Tennessee Senator’s Daughter Carjacked

The 22-year-old daughter of Tennessee senator Bob Corker was carjacked in Washington D.C. last night but police have announced that two suspects were arrested a short time later.

Sen. Bob Corker’s daughter, Julia, was not “seriously injured,” but “she is sore” from the attack, the Tennessee Republican’s chief of staff Todd Womack said in an interview with CNN. Sen. Corker was back at work Thursday morning and the family is expected to pick up the vehicle this afternoon.

Julia Corker, who works in the city, was stopped at a red light last night near the Verizon Center between 9 p.m. ET and 9:30 p.m. ET when a person knocked on her window. She rolled the window down and the person was able to open the door and then “dragged her out of the vehicle by force and threw her onto the pavement and drove away,” Womack said.
