The Big Show Presents: The Secret Squeeze

August 3, 2011

We probably shouldn’t have been drinking during this show…as you’ll hear…things got a little out of hand. OK maybe not a little…A LOT! But hey…it was college and we had a blast as always!

Luckily, we didn’t have to abide by FCC regulations for language or content!

As always, if you’re easily offended…or if you don’t like inappropriate language/content…don’t listen! There…I’ve given my disclaimer… 🙂

These are being posted for the enjoyment of our loyal BIG SHOW listeners. Someday…we’ll be back on the air!

The Big Show Presents: Billy the Greek Goes to San Francisco

July 26, 2011

Yet another episode of “The Big Show” with the college crew from back in 2001.

This segment once again features one of my favorite characters that I ever created…Billy the Greek…who once again demonstrates his over exaggerated Male Chauvenism.

Once again…none of our content should ever be considered PG so enter at your own risk 🙂

The Big Show Presents: An Introduction to Billy the Greek

July 24, 2011

…and now for the first time in 10 years…the return of “The Big Show”.

For your background, The Big Show was a radio program that appeared on KSUN 91.5 for more than 3 years featuring yours truly, “The Roaddawg Johnny Kreuz” along with my colleague and good friend “The Bad Ass Brett Anthony”.

The show came to an end back in May of 2001 but only recently have the tapes been discovered and put online for all of the world to hear. We always had a blast…that’s for sure!

Mind you, I did much of the writing for the show and created the many characters who appeared including “Billy the Greek” who became a weekly staple on the show. Let’s put it this way, he was created to be the prototypical “male chauvinist” and when you listen to the bits that he appeared on, you’d probably believe that the guy really acted this way in real life.

Anyways…here’s the first bit that I’m sharing. This was one of our very first episodes back in 1999 when we introduced Billy the Greek. As a disclaimer…most of the content on ALL of our broadcasts is for adult ears only as we do get a bit edgy/racy so listen at your own risk 🙂

Definitely better than a Casey Anthony radio program would have been 🙂

Surely You Can’t Be Serious: Actor Leslie Nielsen Dies

November 29, 2010

Leslie Nielsen, whose longtime career as a dramatic actor took a sudden turn into comedy with spoofs such as “Airplane!” and “The Naked Gun,” has died at the age of 84.

Many of my memories of comedy films growing up featured Nielsen. He was definitely one of a kind. He pulled off straight faced comedic lines better than almost anyone I can remember.

RIP Lt. Frank Drebin!

From CNN:

The Canadian-born Nielsen’s career reached back into the early days of television, when he made frequent appearances on live drama series like “Goodyear Playhouse.”

He played the earnest starship captain in the 1956 science-fiction classic “Forbidden Planet” and made regular appearances on a wide range of TV dramas into the 1970s, including “Hawaii Five-O.”

He also played the captain of an overturned ocean liner in the 1972 disaster movie, “The Poseidon Adventure.”

Much of that changed in 1980, when he was cast as a doctor aboard an endangered jetliner in the gag-a-minute disaster-movie parody “Airplane!”

Nielsen’s deadpan response to the question “Surely, you can’t be serious?” with “I am serious — and don’t call me Shirley” helped launch a second career.

The film’s producers went on to cast him in their short-lived television series “Police Squad!”

He reprised that show’s bumbling lead character, Lt. Frank Drebin, a decade later in three “Naked Gun” movies, in which he shared the screen with O.J. Simpson and Priscilla Presley.

Double Rainbow: What Does It Mean…

October 3, 2010

Boring Sunday nights mean watching classic videos like this!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN???? 🙂

Weekend Update…

January 15, 2010

Just so no one thinks I’ve been kidnapped by evil ninjas (or something to that effect), I’m letting everyone know that I won’t have my computer with me over the weekend.

My wife and I are going away for the Martin Luther King weekend (with no kids…first time in almost 3 years!!!) We’re headed back to Los Angeles for a couple of days 🙂

Good food and some relaxing at the beach! Ahhh Manhattan Beach, Manhattan Pizzeria and Dinah’s Family Restaurant. My FAVORITE place to eat in the whole world! It was actually featured in the movie Little Miss Sunshine.

I’ll be back on Monday…have a great weekend everyone!

Please…hold down the fort while I’m gone 😛

Barack Obama to Appear on Tonight Show

March 16, 2009

President Barack Obama will be making a guest appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on this coming Thursday.

This should be a fun one to watch! I’ll have to set up the DVR!

From the New York Times:

Mr. Obama will swing by the Leno show as part of his trip to southern California. The White House official said that Mr. Obama plans to talk about the economy with Mr. Leno and said he will try to focus on substance, possibly a tall task given the show’s format.

Will he be funny? “As funny as the times allow,” the official said.

Presidential candidates often appear on television shows when they’re trying to get elected, but once successful, it is rare to find a commander in chief appearing on TV shows except as joke fodder. President Bush did show up on NBC’s “Deal or No Deal” last year, but it was in a taped appearance in which he voiced support for a contestant who had served three tours of duty in Iraq.
