Casey Anthony: New Theory for Daughter’s Death

January 11, 2012

According to reports, Casey Anthony told two doctors that she suspects her father, George Anthony, took her daughter, Caylee, from her bed, sex with her and then drowned her to cover it up.

From ABC News:

“She said, ‘I think he held her underwater, maybe he was doing something to her and he tried to cover it up,'” Dr. Jeffery Danziger recalled Anthony saying in his deposition that was released today.

Anthony told Danziger that she called her mother Cindy Anthony four times, but could not reach her. It was not until several hours later that her mother called back and, at that point, a shocked Anthony “froze.”

“I hoped he’d step up to be my dad and take responsibility,” she told Danziger.

Danziger said Anthony implied that her father’s eventual suicide attempt was, “his way out of the grief or guilt and I’m left to take the wrap [sic].”

Casey Anthony: Defense Team Investigating George Anthony

July 19, 2010

It appears that Casey Anthony’s lawyers are investigating her father, George Anthony.

Very interesting indeed!

From WFTV:

Records obtained by WFTV show the defense is investigating George Anthony’s suicide attempt. They did it to her ex-fiance, Jesse Grund, who was willing to raise another man’s child as his own. The defense did it to meter reader Roy Kronk, who found Caylee Anthony’s remains near the Anthonys’ home on Hopespring Drive.

Now, the defense team could be doing it to Casey Anthony’s father, trying to discredit George. Records show her defense team’s private eye has investigated George’s suicide attempt the month after Caylee was found.“The defense will have to discredit George, because George has some information that is damning to the defense,” Sheaffer said (full interview) .

Casey Anthony: River Cruz Attempts Suicide

March 26, 2010

Wow. It seems that River Cruz’s sister told WFTV in Florida that Cruz was taken by ambulance to Florida Hospital South after she apparently swallowed a full bottle of pills.

No matter how you feel about anyone involved in this case, this is truly a sad development and I hope that all is well with River Cruz/Crystal/Krystal Holloway.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

A woman who claimed she had an affair with Casey Anthony‘s father tried to kill herself by swallowing pills, is reporting.

River Cruz was rushed to Florida Hospital South, the report says. Her Twitter post says: “SUICIDE PACT.”

George Anthony‘s attorney has said his client has not had an affair with River Cruz.

From the TV Guy:

WFTV cited Cruz’s comments on Twitter last night that she was “”tired of all this” — evidently a reference to media coverage of her. Her other Tweets include “so now its time” and in all caps “suicide pact!!!”

WFTV anchor Vanessa Echols quoted Cruz’s sister as saying Cruz took a bottle of pills and was taken to Florida Hospital South.

Casey Anthony Case to Appear on ’48 Hours Mystery’

September 17, 2009

Thanks to Hal Boedeker for highlighting this news today!

It appears that the CBS ’48 Hours Mystery’ will be looking at the Casey/Caylee Anthony case sometime during the Fall season.

From The TV Guy:

The news magazine issued a statement: “In keeping with longstanding policy and practice, CBS News did not pay for any interviews relating to the Anthony story. Licensing footage is a standard industry practice done by television news programs to produce a visually complete story.”

A Web site promo for the program shows Cindy Anthony, Casey’s mom, talking in an interview. An announcer says, “The case that riveted the country. Her granddaughter dead. Her own daughter accused. Now Casey Anthony’s parents are fighting to save her life.” Casey Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Casey Anthony: Prosecution to Depose Dominic Casey, Mallory Parker

September 16, 2009

Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony case filed a notice yesterday of their intent to depose Anthonys’ former private investigator Dominic Casey and Lee Anthony’s girlfriend, Mallory Parker.

From WESH:

Casey has been the subject of much speculation in the wake of videotape taken of him searching the area where Caylee’s remains were found a month later.

Casey said he was following the direction of a psychic who directed him to the area. Both depositions are scheduled for November at the state attorney’s office.

Casey Anthony: Motion to Make Dominic Casey Testify

September 14, 2009

Lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez filed a new motion today hoping to force the Anthonys’ former private investigator to submit to a sworn deposition.

From WESH:

In their new filing in the civil lawsuit against Casey Anthony, Gonzalez’ lawyers claim work done by private investigator Dominic Casey is not confidential.

They also cite an 80-page transcript of an interview Dominic Casey did with detectives earlier this year where he spoke freely about certain aspects of the criminal case against Casey Anthony. She is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter, Caylee, who was 2 when she was reported missing in 2008.

Gonzalez and her team want Dominic Casey to pay for their attorneys’ fees, costs and “any other sanctions” the court feels is appropriate.

Casey Anthony: Parents Won’t Need to Testify

September 10, 2009

Lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman who is suing accused murderer Casey Anthony for defamation, have decided that they no longer need to hear testimony from Cindy and George Anthony.

From MyFox Orlando:

In court Wednesday Gonzalez’s attorney Keith Mitnik told the court he no longer needed to know answers to questions that were given to Cindy and George Anthony during depositions that they refused to answer.

Instead the only motion heard had to do with Dominic Casey who at one time was the private investigator for the Baez Law Firm who represents Casey Anthony. Dominic Casey was then retained by Cindy, George and Casey Anthony.

Diana Tennis represents Dominic Casey. She says all information he knows on the Casey/Caylee Anthony case is protected by work privileged and should not be subject to deposition questions in an unexpected move she put her client on the stand. “All he knows about this case is related to defense teams and every person out there who has a lawyer that hires and investigator has a right to believe those secrets won’t be told. It’s that simple.”
