Casey Anthony: Parents Return to the Stand

Casey Anthony’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony, returned to the stand this morning on this, the 31st day of their daughters murder trial.

Jose Baez attempted to ask Cindy Anthony questions about her son, Lee, allegedly groping Casey Anthony in her bedroom. After a few more questions for Cindy, Baez called George Anthony to the stand, where he asked him about a statement he made to police back on July 24, 2008.

From ABC News:

The father of Casey Anthony, who’s accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, testified Wednesday at her murder trial that he’s “100 percent sure” he smelled “human decomposition” coming from Casey Anthony’s car.

George Anthony, under questioning from defense attorneys, said, “I could smell it three feet away on the passenger side. When I opened up that car door, yeah, it smelled like decomposition … human decomposition.”

“I can close my eyes again sir and I can smell that again,” George Anthony said to defense attorney Jose Baez, adding that he was able identify the odor of human decay after years of working in law enforcement.

I find it interesting that Cindy always adds the part “So help me God” before she says “Yes” to Swearing to tell the Truth before she takes the Stand (and then gets up there and Lies). One of her little Games to “appear” more Honest I suppose…
It was kind of odd to me that Cindy shot-out with just a quick and abrupt and rather flat “No” to the Question about Lee, rather than something like “Absolutely not”. I would just expect her to “Emphasize” something like that…
Yeah, George really rambled on and drove it Home about the “Decomposition” Odor (I’m sure Baez wanted to “Duct Tape” HIS Mouth). You gotta admit, it was a pretty strong Testimony for the Jury to hear— especially with adding that he had been in Law Enforcement himself— and I saw it as difficult— if not impossible— for them not to Believe it. Of course, Casey sat there and kept shaking her Head, but I think George has come to the point where it’s either Her, or Him.
