Casey Anthony: Hearing Today Focuses on “Death Band”

The defense is arguing today why certain hair evidence should be excluded from Casey Anthony’s first-degree murder trial.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton questioned FBI fiber examiner Karen Korsberg Lowe via video conference this morning. She is answering questions about hair evidence and “postmortem root banding.”

Such banding is a dark coloration on or near the hair root that studies say appear in deceased individuals.

A hair strand found near the left side of the trunk liner of the Pontiac Sunfire that Anthony was driving before her daughter disappeared showed such signs of decomposition.

A comparison to hair taken from Caylee’s brush and DNA taken from Casey Anthony showed neither the mother nor daughter could be excluded as the source of the hair.

So the hair showed evidence that it came from a corpse. But Casey Anthony couldn’t be excluded? LOL – unless Casey is dead, I think we can safely exclude her as the source of the hair. Which leaves hair from a deceased Caylee in Casey’s car. Reasonable doubt is so far out of the window now!

I think when they found that out Cali Patti , that they should have arrested old cindy,,,,,,,She should be charged in any event. That is a jail time offense…….
They withheld evidence and covered up things,,,,,,,,,she and george…….

I agree Zelda… “Tampering with Evidence”. Although I seriously doubt they will, I would really love for The Prosecution to mention that incident, just for the hell of it. I mean, it was reported that there was Mud on Casey’s Boots for God’s Sake. And who cares if it would be “Stricken from the Record”— it would at least fall upon the Jury’s hearing Ears. It’s obvious that there are SO MANY things that could be brought-up at this Trial… I wish that Trials could be EXACTLY like a Storybook, and not have to have “Limits” and “Exclusions” placed upon the telling of the Story. I mean, isn’t EVERYthing that happens “Evidence”? Just as it makes no sense for a good Author to leave out ANYthing that contributes to his Story unfolding with Details and
“Completeness”, it makes no sense to me to leave-out anything that contributes to the unfolding and completeness of THIS Story.
