Hollywood Publicist Killed in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills police continue to look for a gunman who fatally shot Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen while driving her a Mercedes-Benz early this morning.

Authorities have searched her home and office but have no immediate motive for the slaying.

From the Associated Press:

Investigators have seized computers from the business of a prominent Hollywood publicist who was shot to death in her car in Beverly Hills on her way home from a movie premiere.

Police hauled the equipment from Ronni Chasen’s business, Chasen and Co., about 12 hours after she was gunned down early Tuesday. There are no suspects or motive yet for the crime.

The 64-year-old publicist, who promoted such Oscar winners as “Driving Miss Daisy,” was shot several times in the chest in her Mercedes-Benz near Sunset Boulevard. Her car then hit a light pole and she died before dawn at a hospital.

From the Los Angeles Times:

Officers who arrived at Sunset Boulevard and Whittier Drive about 12:30 a.m. found the Mercedes-Benz E350 crashed into a light pole with the unidentified female driver suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

No one else was in the car.

Paramedics took the woman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The shooting was under investigation as detectives tried to determine who shot the woman and why.

Geeeezzzz…. She was actually shot 5 times in the Chest after getting in her Car after seeing the Premier of “Burlesque”. Sounds like SOMEone had it in for her personally in a major way. Being who she was, and in Hollywood, hopefully the Perpitrator will be tracked-down pretty quickly.
