Rescue Nears for Trapped Chilean Miners

Good news coming out of Chile as the first of 33 trapped miners is expected to be lifted to safety this coming Wednesday morning.

The rescue comes more than two months after the accident that left the men trapped. According to reports, the miners have already survived longer underground than anyone in history.

Amazing hardly begins to describe this!

From AOL News:

Sirens and bells rang out across the Chilean desert at around 8 a.m. local time today, signaling that one of three drills safely penetrated an underground pocket where the miners have survived for the past 66 days. Cheers went up through crowds at “Camp Hope,” a cluster of tents and kiosks where relatives have kept a vigil for their loved ones. Children lit candles for hope, and women applied makeup ahead of tearful reunions.

“God be willing, in a few days the whole country will be weeping with joy… when we see these miners emerge from the depths of the mountain to embrace their wives, children, mothers and fathers,” said President Sebastian Pinera, according to Agence-France Presse.

You said it *Zelda*! From going to looking like these guys were doomed when it first happened.. to following all the efforts to figure-out a near-impossible Rescue Plan.. to the TV Clips of them Smiling and Waving from down there— this has been one hell of a Real-Life Drama! I can’t even imagine what these Men must have felt in the beginning, and then the waiting and wondering, let alone having to sit through the passing of 65 days underground. And their Families… Doubt any words could describe what they’ve been through. It was reported on the News tonight that there will be Media from 33 Countries present there on Wednesday, and I know my butt will be glued to the Couch. GOD SPEED.. to ALL!

THis is just an off the charts unbelievable rescue effort. No one has survived being stuck underground like this and for this length of time before. The gigantic effort is more than heartwarming….it’s hopeful and a reminder of what we humans can do if we pull together for good.
It’s the best kind of story to focus on in this goofy world we live in today.
There is such a need for positive ANYTHING!!!!!
Can’t wait to see them all out of there! Wow.

These are fine minds working, pulling together. What a wonder at what man can
accomplish as they are men willing to sacrifice days and hours, both those being rescued and those doing the rescuing I can’t even imagine the feeling of being down there waiting. God Bless ALL involved, and everyone for their prayers.

  6. OneOp Says:

BUTT GLUE? You two are leaving me out of a good thing, or what?

  7. Honeydog Says:

Yeah, they’re saying this is the biggest Rescue effort of its kind in History. Not that it’s important right now, but I wonder if these Miners will make the Guinnes Book of World Records. Anyway, I can’t wait.

As for the “Butt Glue”, make sure it’s the really good stuff— all you need is a little Drop… And definitely put a Towel down first, so as not to stain the Couch… Wear someone else’s Pants so you don’t ruin yours… Have the Phone with you— You won’t be able to get up and answer it… And absolutely don’t forget to pull the Towel off your Butt before leaving the House!!!! (I made that mistake… It’s not pretty).

    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah !!!!

Yes indeed, there is good to be observed and it should be deeply appreciated. What a steady effort for such a long time and what amazing character in the rescuers and those to be rescued. someone knows how to do something right.
