Casey Anthony: Anthony Lazzaro Wants Records Protected

Anthony Lazzaro filed a motion in court this morning attempting block a subpoena for his phone records dating back to January of 2009.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

The motion to quash, filed by Lazzaro attorney William Jay, states Lazzaro received a copy of a subpoena without deposition for phone records from January 2009 to the present.

An earlier ruling in the case held that this time frame was “not permitted to be the subject of a subpoena,” according to the motion. The timeframe permitted by the court ran from June 1, 2008, through Dec. 18, 2008, the filing states.

“Therefore, Anthony Lazzaro is requesting the court to enter an order quashing this subpoena,” the motion states.

That is ridiculous. I think Casey is behind this. She is sitting behind bars wondering who Tony has dumped her for and by seeing his phone records she can see what he’s been doing and with who.

  2. connie Says:

    Absolutly agree!

    You are probably right Diana

Good grief.I never thought of that……….who the hell knows.Nothing would surprise me.

I hope he gets himself a good attorney. Sounds like he’s the next person they’re going to try to throw under the bus.

I’m a bit confused by all this. To start, the Title implies that Tony wants his Phone Records
“Protected”. I would think this means that he doesn’t want anyone to see them. That kinda makes me Wonder. Next, it seems that it’s the “Time Frame” of the Records which is the actual Issue he’s defending, and the basis for the Motion (The Court seems to have made a Mistake in the “Dates” it is interested in, and this would be the Reason for Blocking the Subpoena). While I can understand that his Phone Records from January 2009 to the Present are not within the critical Time-Period associated with Caylee’s “Disappearance”, they COULD possibly hold some useful Information IF Tony and Casey were still in contact with each other after her Arrest…. YET— the “earlier Ruling” specifies only June 1 to December 18, 2008 as being Permitted, which WOULD be the significant Time-Frame, and, I can see why those Records would be of Interest (I’m wondering if he provided THEM). Still, problem is, if it’s been determined that Tony and Casey have Talked since then, the Case’s “Requirements” could have changed to have initiated this Subpoena which he wants Quashed, and, not that I think Tony Lazzaro holds the Key to unlocking any Mystery here, but it makes me Curious when anyone “Protests” something the Court wants, at any time.

Not me. It’s a thing called privacy. Which by the way we have very little of these days. I wouldn’t want to have people peeking into my privacy either if it did not apply to the case. So I am wondering if that is it?
I suppose they can access your records via court order if they like.Don’t suppose you have toooooo much to say. I am not familiar with that point of law.

This is just another fishing expedition. Tony isn’t involved in this murder, he only dated the killer. This should open the eyes of every person that Casey and only Casey killed little Caylee. How much evidence is needed today to convict someone. A dead Caylee in the trunk of her car, Casey not ever reporting her daughter missing, lies, lies and more lies. Justice will prevail here never doubt it.

  9. Honeydog Says:

I didn’t say that Tony was “involved” or had anything to do with Caylee’s disappearance or her death, but— since he IS among the group of people who were around Casey physically and/or did talk with her on the Phone during those months, he IS a part of the Case and its surrounding circumstances.
I may very well be making a Mountain out of a Mole Hill here, but the way I’m seeing this is that there appears to be sufficient Reason to support the Court’s interest in his Telephone Communications, and, what is (and should be) considered “Private” doesn’t always matter and/or stand un-Invaded if the Court deems it Questionable or neccessary for Substantiation. I’m still only saying that it becomes Suspicious when someone goes this far by taking such Action.
Incidentally, does anyone recall if it was Tony who reported that he woke-up one night while Casey was staying at his House to find her sitting-up in Bed watching the News Coverage of Caylee’s disappearance, and that she was Crying, Shaking, and “Sweaty”? (I’m asking because I myself don’t remember which Guy said it). I DO remember that Casey called Tony at one point, telling him that she loved him, and that if she knew where Caylee was, “none of this would be happening” (but that’s the only part of the Phone Call which was released). I tend to think Casey had more contact with Tony than she did with any of the others, even after her Arrest, and, my point is, what’s the Big Deal against sharing it, as long as it isn’t Self-Incriminating.

  10. Good! Maybe the phone records will shed some light on what was really going on with those boys prior to Caylee’s disappearance. I always thought the guy that took the photos of Casey at the bar acted as if he was concealing something during the interview on camera in front of the Anthony home. His eyes kept darting to his left, as I recall.

It seems as if one of them were involved in dealing drugs. This is why the apt. had been broken into once.

  11. zelda Says:

Well………..since all of you have these questions about this guy,,,,,,,,so would the prosecutors etc. etc.
It is valid to question him on all the mentioned points
I guess you never know what lurks under a rock until you turn it over.
I always have to keep in mind the “mind” of a liar and a sociopath.Meaning casey. She could have led this guy down a golden path trying to cover her tracks.
Not out of the ballpark thinking given this whole scenario?
The defense has tried blaming everyone but casey……dragging out skeletons from any one and every one who was remotely in the area or her life.
I wouldn’t believe her if her tongue came noterized.

  12. Honeydog Says:

Right— Turn every Rock over. Need to. The Defense may get nothing off the bottom, but who’s to say the State won’t.

  13. pammyfromtexas Says:

to Honeydog, Tony DID NOT wake up in the middle of the night to find Casey upset about “news coverage of Caylee” she was watching the video of Caylee at the nursing home with her grandfather, Tony did not know Caylee was missing until the rest of the world did, and their was not news coverage about it until Casey was in jail. And the reason they want Tony’s records is the same reason they want TES records they are trying to find a scapegoat, they will check everyone until they find someone with a record and then they will drag that person through the mud and try to blame them somehow, Tony does not have anything to hide he is protecting his rights and the privacy of his friends, you must be drinking from the Anthony koolaid!

  14. zelda Says:

oneop………..haven’t you noticed the defense tactics?

Of course they will do everything they can to get their client off. That is their job. However this a real unclassy legal team.

I guess that since Baez has proven to be a real goon people tend to see it as mud slinging on preposterous notions. Everyone has lied………zanny nanny stuff.

    Big rocks coming at you!

  15. Gojobuddy Says:

They want his phone records before he even met her up until now. The previous judge Strickland already ruled on the dates for these records. They are trying to get another bite from the apple. If you read their witness list you will see what they are trying to do.They are going to take every single person they can find and try and dig up some kind of dirt on them like they did to Roy Kronk. With these lying ex-wives of his. It’s a big joke. When they were interviewing the one wife she couldn’t even look into the interviewer’s face. She kept having to look away to think up her story as she went along. I think this defense team is dumber then dirt. They should have tried to cop a plea before she gets put to death! The jurors will not fall for these tactics if you ask me.

  16. Honeydog Says:

*PammyfromTexas*: I didn’t say it WAS Tony who told Authorities about Casey waking-up “Sweaty”— I ASKED who it was. And I do remember now that Tony did not know about Caylee beforehand, as you said. At least that’s cleared-up. Would still like to know which Guy it was on the other matter. I do know it happened. Back to the Phone Records, of COURSE I realize what The Defense is doing— I don’t have to drink ANYthing to know that. We’re all here voicing our Opinions and personal Viewpoints. Mine above is just that. Whether it’s right or wrong, makes no difference to me. We out here have Proof of nothing. Both The Defense and The State will try to demand what they will, acquire what they can, and it’s all part of the Game— Although there’s no question that it’s The Defense who plays Dirty. Their Case is weak and desperate, and I agree with *Gojobuddy*— Their Dirty Laundry will not wash clean with a Jury, unless of course, The Prosecution would be completely absent from the Courtroom. Anyone who had anything to “Hide” will be revealed… and, likewise, for those who don’t.

    LOL OneOp..!!!!
I was hoping you would duck!!!! LOL!!!
