Quick Update…

So, my brother was sent home to Hidden Valley Lake from the hospital yesterday.

He’s going to need 9 months of rehab but he is doing much better.

He can stand using a walker and can make his way to the bathroom with assistance. For the most part, though, he is on bed rest for the next 3 months.

The difficult part right now is that he’s being cared for by my mother who is on permanent disability with a back injury and my stepfather who has a heart condition.

My goal is to visit as often as I can but things are at least looking good right now!

Thank you John, So glad to hear he is on his feet for a little. It is going to be long months for all of you. Will therapy be in home or does he have to be driven. So sorry your mom and stepdad have their problems also, but I know you are all so grateful he is coming through this terrible accident that you are more than happy to be there for him.

I hope your distance is not too far from each other. God love all of you for loving each other. I will not forget you in prayer. Hugs.

I was just wondering today when we would hear an update on Dan. Sounds great that he is coming home as soon as he is. Just tell him not to push himself further than the rehab allows for-I’m sure he wants to be completely well right now, and I mean, right now! Prayers are still being said by me for him and your family. May God give strength to your mom and dad and brother through this.

Yes, John, Thanks for the News. I too have been wondering what’s what, but knew you would Post something in your own time. I’m real glad that Dan is making impressive Progress! Tell him we’re Proud of him!

Your Parents, I’m sure, are willing to do everything they can, but I know First-Hand that this is not an easy Job— both Mentally and Physically— and when you have your own Medical Issues and are trying to oversee and be involved with the Care and lengthy Rehabilitation Process, believe me, it takes it’s Toll. Because I’ve been through this— first with my Daughter, following our near-fatal Car Accident, then my Father’s Physical Rehabilitation— I know how overwhelming it is right now for all of you, and, while the Process will begin to get pretty Crazy and Life-Consuming for its Duration, you will all work-out what each other can do/can’t do, and when, and you’ll be informed-of and have access to additional Help and Resources as time goes on. It’s definitely quite an Experience for everyone concerned, and it’s Crucial that your Mom and StepDad, and you, all take care of yourselves throughout. My Thoughts and Wishes for the very Best during this time, and ahead.

Hi John, sounds like a tough haul for all of you but in time all will be back to normal. Just keep hanging in there. The good news is Dan is going to be okay.oh and i do so much hate to hear your mom and stepdad are having their own health battles. I will continue to send good thoughts and prayers for all of you~~
