Successful Surgery Complete…

After nearly 5 hours, my brother’s final surgery at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is finally complete.

As we waited this morning....

The hip now has 2 large plates and 12 screws but he is resting comfortably in the recovery room.

We’ll be on our way to his room to see him shortly. They had some minor complications during the surgery but it appears to be a success 🙂

Very good news and so happy you gave us the update. I know you guys are more tired than the patient. It is tough waiting for news of this kind. It will ony get better from here on and in no time he will be back almost good as new, may have to watch out for metal detector’s, ha, so John you better have those jokes awaiting~~ lol.

So glad the surgery is over. Are the plates and screws temporary until bones are healed. Even if not, they can do wonderful things today. I know people who have hips, knees, etc replaced and they are doing just like wonderfully well.

I am looking at your pic. I guess this is you, your mom and dad. So sorry you have this terrible ordeal. Best thoughts to all of you, and may Dan continue to move forward in every respect be comfortable and well.

Wow. 5 hours. Long time… for you guys AND Dan (I can’t imagine being the Doctors). But yes, it’s all over now and the worst is behind all of you. I’m assuming they will want Dan to begin his Physical Therapy as soon as possible, huh? They don’t waste any time these days getting Patients back on their Feet. And you know he’ll be thrilled when he can finally eat a decent Meal (Of course, you’ll have to bring that IN!). Happy to hear the Good News. Now, get Rested-up, and in no time he’ll be challenging you in “Walker Races”! Thanks for the Update, and keep ’em coming when you can.

Glad to hear he’s doing better! Thanks for the updates! What’s his status now? How much longer in the hospital?

Dan’s doing better. He actually was able to stand for about 30 seconds with a walker. Lots of recovery time coming, but looking better than it was a few days ago!
