More Air France Crash Debris Found

Searchers found more debris today from an Air France jet that plunged into the Atlantic Ocean earlier this week.

From CNN:

Two debris fields were found Tuesday, with the wreckage identified as coming from Flight 447.

The Airbus A330 carrying 228 people went down about three hours after beginning what was to have been an 11-hour flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, France.

Among the debris found Wednesday were various objects in a circular 5-kilometer (3-mile) area; one object with a diameter of 7 meters (23 feet); 10 objects, some of which were metallic; and an oil slick that extended as far as 20 kilometers (12 miles), said Brazilian Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral.

The latest debris was found about 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of Tuesday’s discovery, Amaral said. The earlier debris was about 650 kilometers (400 miles) northeast of the Fernando de Noronha Islands, an archipelago 355 kilometers (220 miles) off the northeast coast of Brazil.

  1. Oh,This is News update for me in last time I plane and I don’t want anything crash…

  2. 迷你倉 Says:

Navy ships are speeding toward a patch of ocean in the Atlantic that is littered with debris from an Air France plane that crashed with 228 people on board, seeking to recover clues to the jet’s mysterious tragedy.

The naval operation, a day after the debris was spotted off Brazil’s coast, included two mini-submarines to recover the plane’s black box flight recorders if they can be found in the depths of the Atlantic.

Both Brazil’s defense minister and a French military official have said there is no doubt the debris came from the mysterious crash.

The first ships to arrive will be Brazilian, joining three cargo ships from France and the Netherlands that were rerouted to the area after debris from Air France flight AF447 was spotted.

Brazil has announced three days of national mourning. Catholic and Muslim services are to be held in Paris, including one in Notre-Dame cathedral to be attended by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

I was just beginning to get my “Nerve” back and consider Flying again, after several years of trying to Overcome a Horrific Experience on a Plane with “Problems”. I realize these Tragedies are pretty-much Few-and-Far-Between, but with the previous
“Hudson Bay” Incident, and now This, I’m feeling again like I’ll never get over my Fear, and that my Intention to complete my Travels are Destined to be Limited to only anywhere I can get to by “Ground”.
For anyone who has experienced “Fright in Flight”, it’s Life-Altering, and I Hope these 228 Souls did not Suffer. My Prayers are for their Families and for, Hope-against-Hope, the Recovery of any and all.

  4. Gray Says:

I’ve been a flight instructor for 10 years. I can not believe any pilot would knowingly fly into a thunderstorm. What ever happened won’t be determined until the data recorders are found. However, it is very strange that there was no dialoge between the pilots and atc.
