Caylee Anthony: Roy Kronk Previously Arrested for Kidnapping

UPDATE: Seems that Roy Kronk is a “suspect” now.

Here’s an interesting development in the Caylee Anthony case from today. It seems that Roy Kronk faced kidnapping charges back in the 1990’s.

Hard to say what to think of this but it is something that I read this afternoon which I thought I would pass along for discussion.

From First Coast News:

Roy Kronk says he did nothing wrong and was just helping an ex-girlfriend move out of her boyfriend’s house. A jury did not find probable cause to charge him, and his record has been expunged.

Roy Kronk was hired by Orange County Utilities on May 27th of 2008. According to the information he provided the county, he owned a bail bonds company and worked as a bounty hunter in Kingsport, Tennessee for almost 11 years, ending in 2004.

Kronk’s attorney David Evans says they will likely fly to New York City next week. Kronk will sit down on one of the network morning shows and -quote- “set the record straight.”

This has to be, hands down, the strangest case in the history of cases. Everyone involved has issues or strange ties to the situation. It sounds like nothing but it’s just odd how no one seems normal in all of this.

  2. mary Says:

If he was a bail bondsman 11 years ago, are there any connections to L.P. Maybe they know each other from way back. This case is getting stranger every minute. Or maybe we really dont have any real facts only that Caylee was murdered by her mother. Maybe it really is not that compliated and the media has made more of of it than should be.

  3. pak31 Says:

mary, I think the same way, this is getting stranger by the minute or it’s as simple as pie. I just don’t know what to think anymore. I think that LE is the only group of individuals that can really be trusted right now. So at the trial, that is when all the truth will come out.

  4. Nina Says:

I am not paying any attention to any of this anymore.

To many weird things happening int this case. Not sure who or what can even be believed any more.

All I know for truth is that witch Casey killed Caylee and am waiting for the trial and to hear them say GUILTY with life in prison with out parole..

This all became to weird and it keeps getting worst….Can’t wait for the trial!!

  5. TrustEngGod Says:

if he was found not chargable by a grand jury who by the way would indict a flea than the guy didn’t “kidnap” anyone meaning all he did was get arrested and you all could be at any time in your life.
As I see it the guy wanted 225.000 most ppl don’t follow this case as wee all do. And maybe didn’t know it was set foe her SAFE return. LP trick him out of 50,000 which
is a rotten thing to do more over. It’s simple a meter reader with sleth ideals and give him a break guys. Don’t you think the LE would be all over him like sink on a shunk if there was more to him.
LP give him the 50,000 LIAR!

  6. Lynx Says:

I live in Orlando. The players in this case are getting more bizzare as the days go by. Every day something new comes out. And, I also, can’t wait for the trial.

  7. knarahs Says:

How relevant is this? If you read the WHOLE article, it clearly says that a “grand jury did not find probable cause” to actually CHARGE him, and his record was EXPUNGED. The release of this information seems like one more attempt to discredit a concerned citizen who was curious enough to keep after officials until little Casey was found. It seems Roy Kronk had more compassion for little Caylee (someone he never met) than did the person who murdered her and threw her away like so much trash (probably her mother). The Anthony family should be down on their knees to him, thanking him for finding their little girl, so they could give her a decent funeral (although they haven’t even done THAT yet, have they?)!!

  8. kim from nc Says:

Man Who Found Caylee’s Remains-Once Arrested On Kidnapping Charge.

Man Who Found Caylee’s Remains Once Arrested On Kidnapping Charge in South Carolina!

The Meter Reader who found little Caylee Anthony remains is likely to have a Network TV Interview to clear suspicions, that he had any thing to do with the Caylee Anthony death-murder.

Roy Kronk who is the Orange County utility worker, who called in three reports about a suspicious bag…and who in fact on December11Th, 2008, discovered the remains of little Caylee Anthony in a wooded area near the girl’s grandparents’ home, was arrested in the early 1990s on kidnapping charges.

Kronk said in a statement issued to WKMG that the kidnapping involved a domestic situation with a man who was living with his former girlfriend.

“In the early 1990s, while on duty with the U.S. Coast Guard in Key West, Florida, I had a girlfriend who made the decision to discontinue her relationship with me and move to South Carolina to reside with another man. But really I was so mad when she let me for that other guy, that’s why I went up there to take her away, but I did get caught, and hired a real good lawyer.

At some time after her departure, she called me and asked me to come to South Carolina and help her move away from that individual. I traveled to South Carolina to assist her. Upon my arrival in South Carolina, the man she was living with engaged me in a confrontation.

As a result of that confrontation, I was arrested based on false allegations that I had kidnapped my former girlfriend.

The matter was submitted to a grand jury in South Carolina. The grand jury determined that there was no probable cause to bring charges against me. In recognition of the falsity of these allegations, all records relating to this arrest were expunged by the South Carolina court.

“Also with hiring the best attorney that money can buy, any good attorney can get you off of anything like my attorney did in South Carloina”.

WKMG has personally confirmed that information is included in the criminal background check conducted on Roy Kronk prior to his hiring with Orange County.

Kronks’ attorney, David Evans, said Friday that it is likely his client will likely give the interview Monday or Tuesday. Evans would not say which network would conduct the interview. It’s customary for networks to pay expenses for its guests, which Evans said would happen, but he would not say if Kronk was being paid for the interview. Also Roy stated “if I don’t get paid for the interview, then I will not tell them everything”.

“Roy Kronk lost his wife to cancer last year, and that battle brought him down to his last dime,” said Evans, who added that he would like to find a way to get his client some compensation, for that lost. So Roy uses poor Caylee being dead, hides her body all that time, then says look at what I found. It was video taped prior to the so called discovery. So how is it that Roy really found the bag? Or did he? It was more than likely he planted the bag there. We all searched the area and found nothing. So why is it that an ex kidnapper finds it, and not the police. He even had the charges expunged from his record. If he had nothing to hide why do that.

Roy has only commented once since the gruesome discovery was made. That was three weeks ago when he held a news conference and issued a brief statement, expecting to get paid on every news conference. Roy Kronk tried to go and get a exclusive interview deal with a media outlet and expected to be paid one million dollars for the story. It was decline and he then refused to tell the story unless he was going to get paid. He stated he would tell them the real truth of what really happened that day.

“Back in August of this year, I had previously reported to Crimeline and to the sheriff’s communications center that I had spotted something suspicious, a bag in the same area,” Kronk said in August. “But I failed to tell them everything about the case that I know so I don’t get into trouble.I promised Lee Anthony I would keep him out of it. Don’t you think it is quite odd, the grandparents out in California doing an interview and Lee is here all alone and we decide to say hay, look at what I found, but the media and police did buy it.I have been and will continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation by the sheriff’s office and the FBI, but I wanted to get paid and they refused to pay me for my story.

There are numerous conspiracy theories that have circulated about Kronk’s role in the case, and Evans said his client feels the time is right to set the record straight for the people if they pay a price for it.

Evans said he is preparing Roy for all types of scrutiny.

It is rumored that Roy Kronk and his attorney Evans have been unwilling to sit down and answer any questions from Anthony’s defense team. They have been cooperating with authorities.

So, Roy Kronk, the Man Who Found Caylee’s Remains-Once Arrested On Kidnapping Charge, is not a kidnapper.. Just once again, a good Samaritan, yeah right. # 1 SUSPECT- Roy Kronk!

  11. Cathi Says:

I agree with Kronk – sadly, it seems – no good deed goes unpunished.

It’s crap like this that makes people stop wanting to
    do the right thing.

  12. What Says:

Maybe he did the wrong thing again. If you get away with it once, it builds confidence for them to do it again.

  13. Kaye from Ohio Says:

I believe I heard on the news that Kronk described the first bag as being white. Then, he saw a dark-colored bag in another location in the wooded area, and the second bag proved to hold the remains of Caylee. Did anyone else notice this inconsistency? Has the white bag been found and examined?

I also heard briefly on the TV news that another small girl was found murdered and stuffed into a garbage bag (in the Orlando area) the same way Caylee was. Why is this second case not being discussed more and compared with the Caylee Anthony case?

I also heard the dark bag was moved to another part of the woods while Casey Anthony was in jail. This suggests someone else is responsible for the child’s disappearance and murder.

  14. Ina Says:

    But what if…?

It is rumored that Roy Kronk and his attorney Evans have been unwilling to sit down and answer any questions from Anthony’s defense team. They have not been cooperating with authorities. Authorities still suspect Roy Kronk as a second suspect. They are waiting for him to screw up so they can then charge him with accessory to murder. As with his friend Lee Anthony, he will be joining his sister Casey Anthony as soon as they have enough evedience against him.

So, Roy Kronk, the Man Who Found Caylee’s Remains-Once Arrested On Kidnapping Charge, is not a kidnapper.. Just once again, a good Samaritan, yeah right. # 1 SUSPECT- Roy Kronk!

Ok, this whole entire Caylee Anthony case is so weird. I think they need to arrest everyone including Roy Kronk, Lee Anthony, Cindy Anthony and George Anthony to all join little Miss. Casey Anthony. They are all behind this big scam to make lots of money from this.

  16. Jesse Says:

Roy Kronk needs to be arrested because he had prior knowledge where Caylees body was. That bastard is a liar. He wanted to make money off of a dead girl. I hope Cadets attorney drags that bastard to court. I believe that Cassey had some part in her childs disappearance but Roy killed Caylee and hid her body. Roy likes using tape on his victims. Just throw Roy in jail until he admits it.

  17. One Op Says:

Jesse, Casey stated that Caylee was kidnapped by Zanaida so how do you think Roy Kronk got Caylee. He did know where to look for Caylee and never looked anywhere but right at that spot, going back three times. He may be innocent but certainly not a hero imo.

  18. Marge Says:

I really believe that Casey Anthony is schizophrenic and that is why she has so many stories about what happened. This is common when schizophrenic people encounter trauma. Please see the movies “Butterfly Effect 2” and “A Beautiful Mind” and I guarantee that someone told her she had a beautiful mind and she thought they said a beautiful life. Now, we do know that she actually bought an air mattress for Caylee to take to the babysitter. I don’t buy the story that she rountinely chloroformed her child and stuffed her in the car. Until she died, Caylee was well taken care of. Where was she taking Caylee all those days? Florida dropped charges of kidnapping against a Laura Caballero who was a fake nun and what are the chances that Roy Kronk with his history would find Caylee’s body: duct taped and his ex-wife, duct-taped?! George threw his father thru a plate-glass window and Cindy choked Casey. So, far she is a liar, but probably because she is mentally ill, and a thief but out of everyone, she has never been known to be violent. If Ricardo hadn’t posted the word “chloro-
form” we may never have heard of it. It is the magic bullet in this case. I think the computer stuff was planted and Roy Kronk’s girlfriend worked for the police dept. alright already. It duh, didn’t occur to them that Casey wasn’t being a pain on purpose, so damnit they are going to get her. She is going to be put to death for THE OPINION IT WAS MURDER. I wouldn’t be surprised if the heart sticker wasn’t added for effect too. She put stickers on her pets too? Great memory!
By the way, how many kids attended the hamster funeral in what year?! Great detective work.

  19. Daphne Kalista Says:

Roy Kronk is gentle and kind. He may be an opportunist but only because he is broke. He searched for little Caylee out of compassion and a need to help law enforcement. He reported what he found. As this case became a circus, Roy realized the media might be interested in his limited knowledge. Please don’t fault him for trying to sell his story – YOU buy all the magazines, which are making the fortune! My advice at this point is to simply to go with Casey Anthony’s big lie and convict her. She is saying her daughter died in the pool. OK …. this admission links the death of this child directly to her. Convict her on child neglect and involuntary manslaughter. We will never know what really happened. Any further admission of guilt would not be believable after all the lies. I thank God for taking this precious, innocent child from this family. She will not spend a lifetime suffering from this unstable mother and her equally crazy acting family. (What’s with the brother crying like a baby on the witness stand because he “wasn’t included in his sister’s pregancy”? The entire family is wacky!) Caylee is safe. Let us allow God to render the judgement and punishment for He alone knows what really happened. Casey voluntarily gave up her child. She is the one who will hurt from this for the rest of her life – no friends, no job, always a suspect even if she is not incarcerated for this crime. If she is imprisoned, she will be labeled a baby killer by the other inmates. She will no doubt commit suicide once the limelight passes – evidence of true evil controlling her behavior. Sometimes children are born with either a clubbed foot, a deformed hand, blind or deaf. On rare occasions, a human being is born with an unseen disorder. Casey Anthony is a sociopath. Roy Kronk is not.

  20. Anonymous Says:

Well, I have been reading all the comments, and it is 2011, and Casey Anthony has been found not guilty. The only thing I dont understand about the meter reader is HOW did he determine the bag he saw was suspicous? If I saw a bag off in the distance, I would just think it was full of trash it would not even occur to me that it was suspicous. That does not make any sense. Can anyone explain that one to me??
