Judge Lisa Munyon has ruled that the defamation lawsuit against Casey Anthony can proceed.

Judge Lisa Munyon heard several hours of arguments last month on two motions — one filed by Anthony’s defense and the other by attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez — but reserved ruling.
At issue is whether or not Anthony identified Gonzalez specifically enough when she talked to her parents in a jail visitation session.
The civil trial against Casey Anthony has been delayed until January of next year. Circuit Judge Lisa T. Munyon re-set the trial after Zenaida Gonzalez’s lawyer notified the court of a conflict with a previously scheduled case in Duval County.

According to CBS affiliate WKMG, Judge Lisa Munyon announced Tuesday that the case, filed by Zenaida Gonzales against Anthony, will be pushed back until Jan. 2, 2013.
Attorneys on both sides of the case had been asking to delay the trial scheduled to begin in April, partially due to conflicts with other clients, according to WKMG.

Jury selection is slated to begin April 10 in the case filed against Anthony by Kissimmee mother Zenaida Gonzalez.
Gonzalez claims Anthony ruined her reputation in 2008 when she told law-enforcement a babysitter with the same name kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie.
Judge Lisa Munyon has denied a request to dismiss a lawsuit against Casey Anthony. The lawsuit alleged that Anthony made numerous misrepresentations to Texas EquuSearch and its founder, Tim Miller.

Search group Texas EquuSearch, which aided in the search for Caylee Anthony in 2008, filed a lawsuit against Casey Anthony in July.
As a result, volunteers engaged in “extensive, costly and time-consuming searches for Caylee,” the lawsuit claims. “The time and effort dedicated to this search diverted resources from TES’ ability to provide its search and rescue operations to other families.”
Anthony’s attorney filed a motion to dismiss, saying the suit lacked any merit. Judge Lisa Munyon denied the motion Wednesday.
It appears that when Casey Anthony is deposed later this fall in a civil lawsuit, it will be done in secret, via video.

Gonzalez’s lawyers wanted to broadcast Anthony’s scheduled deposition, which remains set for Oct. 8.
Judge Lisa Munyon denied the request, saying Anthony could be deposed from an undisclosed location by video link, and it is not to be broadcast.
Anthony’s attorney, Charles Green, indicated he will file a motion for the video and transcript of the deposition to be sealed and not released to the public.
