Casey Anthony: Civil Trial Delayed Until 2013

The civil trial against Casey Anthony has been delayed until January of next year. Circuit Judge Lisa T. Munyon re-set the trial after Zenaida Gonzalez’s lawyer notified the court of a conflict with a previously scheduled case in Duval County.

According to CBS affiliate WKMG, Judge Lisa Munyon announced Tuesday that the case, filed by Zenaida Gonzales against Anthony, will be pushed back until Jan. 2, 2013.

Attorneys on both sides of the case had been asking to delay the trial scheduled to begin in April, partially due to conflicts with other clients, according to WKMG.

Casey Anthony: Baptism in her Future?

Casey Anthony, who was found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, plans to be baptized sometime this month. This will be part of her “transition” to a new, post-trial life.

According to an insider, Anthony, 26, wanted to do something to signify a new beginning in her life.

“Casey has planned to get baptized sometime this month,” an insider exclusively told RadarOnline.com.

“She figured getting baptized would be the best way start this new chapter in her life. It’s a new beginning.”

 

Casey Anthony: No Delay in Civil Trial

Judge Lisa Munyon has refused to delay Casey Anthony’s upcoming civil trial from a defamation lawsuit, set to start April 10.

Jury selection is slated to begin April 10 in the case filed against Anthony by Kissimmee mother Zenaida Gonzalez.

Gonzalez claims Anthony ruined her reputation in 2008 when she told law-enforcement a babysitter with the same name kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie.

Casey Anthony Trial Leads to Potential “Caylee’s Law” in Michigan

The Casey Anthony trial has prompted a proposed bill in Michigan that would make it a crime to lie or give misleading information to police officials during a criminal investigation.

Michigan prosecutors asked lawmakers to craft the law, said the bills’ sponsor, Rep. John Walsh, R-Livonia. More people have been willing to lie to police, and the law would give law enforcement one more tool to help fight crime, he said.

“It’s a level of disrespect for our police officers and our criminal justice system,” said Walsh. “This will send a very strong message that if you are going to speak to a police officer about a crime you’ve witnessed, you better tell the truth.”

Casey Anthony: Objections to Release of Audio Recordings

Casey Anthony’s lawyers have filed a formal objection to the request by attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez to produce the audio recordings mentioned in Anthony’s video diary.

Her attorneys object to the request because it “is vague, confusing, over broad, irrelevant, unduly burdensome, intended to harass, not reasonably calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence, an invasion of privacy, and seeks confidential and/or otherwise privileged information.”

The objection notes that Anthony again asserts her privilege against self incrimination.

The objection was filed by her attorneys with the court Tuesday in the defamation case.

Casey Anthony: New Boyfriend?

According to a few reports, Casey Anthony is secretly dating a new man and has even been attending church.

I’m sure we’ll learn more in the yet to be release “additional video diary’s”.

“She isn’t in hiding…she is out in public all the time…she attends church throughout the week to [sic],” a man who claims to have a “friend that is friends with her” posted on Facebook.

“She is doing good…she is dating someone and does work for his company.”

Casey Anthony: New Theory for Daughter’s Death

According to reports, Casey Anthony told two doctors that she suspects her father, George Anthony, took her daughter, Caylee, from her bed, sex with her and then drowned her to cover it up.

“She said, ‘I think he held her underwater, maybe he was doing something to her and he tried to cover it up,’” Dr. Jeffery Danziger recalled Anthony saying in his deposition that was released today.

Anthony told Danziger that she called her mother Cindy Anthony four times, but could not reach her. It was not until several hours later that her mother called back and, at that point, a shocked Anthony “froze.”

“I hoped he’d step up to be my dad and take responsibility,” she told Danziger.

Danziger said Anthony implied that her father’s eventual suicide attempt was, “his way out of the grief or guilt and I’m left to take the wrap [sic].”

Casey Anthony: Rape Led to Birth of Daughter Caylee

It appears that Casey Anthony told a psychiatrist that she became pregnant with Caylee after passing out at a party when she was 18 years old. This according to depositions released today.

Casey Anthony told a psychiatrist she believes her daughter Caylee was the product of a date rape — an attack that must have occurred in the fall of 2004 after someone “spiked” her drink and she “blacked out” at a party, according to court records unsealed Wednesday.

The revelations about Caylee’s parentage are contained in hundreds of pages of documents made public Wednesday at the request of the Orlando Sentinel. The depositions were given by two doctors who conducted psychological evaluations of Anthony before her trial.

Casey Anthony to Fire Jose Baez

Reports are surfacing today that Casey Anthony is planning to fire her lead attorney Jose Baez.

The New York Post is reporting that Anthony is angry over the fallout of her case, and thinks Jose Baez hasn’t done enough to secure a sit-down interview with a TV network on her behalf. This is the main reason that she wants to get rid of him.

Sources tell us Anthony is furious that Baez has been basking in the limelight and rubbing shoulders with top TV talent, but hasn’t nailed down a big interview deal for her.

Anthony’s original attorney, Cheney Mason, will take over as her representative to the media, and sources say an announcement is imminent.

“Casey doesn’t want to be reading that Jose’s working on all of these deals on her behalf,” a source said, adding that Anthony avidly pores over online reports about herself and her camera-hogging lawyer. “She thinks he’s using her name as a meal ticket,” the source said.

Casey Anthony’s Psychiatric Evaluation Revealed

A psychiatrist says in newly released depositions that he could find no evidence that Casey Anthony suffers from a mental illness.

Dr. Jeffrey Danziger and Dr. William Weitz both conducted psychological evaluations on Anthony and before her murder trial, both doctors were deposed on what she told them regarding the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008 and alleged sexual abuse by her father.

The depositions were done on April 7, 2011 and April 13, 2011 and were ordered sealed by Chief Judge Belvin Perry until the end of the trial. The Orlando Sentinel filed a motion with the court to have the depositions unsealed.

One of the psychiatrists, Danziger, says the results of a psychological test that Anthony took were normal, something he regarded as surprising.
