Federal Prosecutors to Seek Death Penalty for Accused Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

Federal prosecutors will seek the death penalty against Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, arguing that he acted in “an especially heinous, cruel and depraved manner” and lacks remorse for the terrorist attack which killed three and injured more than 250.

A trial date has not been set for Tsarnaev. His next hearing is February 12.

From NBC News:

Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement: “After consideration of the relevant facts, the applicable regulations and the submissions made by the defendant’s counsel, I have determined that the United States will seek the death penalty in this matter. The nature of the conduct at issue and the resultant harm compel this decision.”

Among the factors listed by the government were that the killings were intentional, resulted from acts calculated to cause grave risks to public safety, and were committed in a cruel manner. And prosecutors said the defendant has demonstrated no remorse.

    Calling ALL PUPS!!!!!!!!!
    Where ARE you????

  4. Honeydog Says:

(Wasn’t feeling well for a while there, Sandy, but Okay now…. WOOF WOOF!!)

I agree with you girls on this Post… As it SHOULD be. Just hope he ain’t one of them “Religious Freaks” who couldn’t care less about Dying and considers it an “Honor”. Anyway, it’s about time this Country just gets RID of these Terrorists, instead of giving them 3 Square Meals a day in Prison for the rest of their Lives at our Expense. “KILL ‘EM ALL… LET GOD SORT ‘EM OUT”.

  5. sandy1961 Says:

    Glad your feeling better Pup

  6. Honeydog Says:

    Well, I WAS…
Right now I’d like to kick some ASS!!!!
My Daughter came Home from what had started-out as a nice day at the Mall with an old Friend from High School she hasn’t seen since then, Hyperventilating and Bawling her Eyes out— Her first-ever brand-new Smart Phone that she loved and was so Happy to get for her Birthday just last Month was STOLEN when she put it down on the Table, right beside her, in the Food Court where they were sitting and having something to eat, by some SON-OF-A-BITCH who walked-by and swiftly swooped it up and took-off out into the Crowd. Mother-F’en BASTARD!!!! Because of her physical Impairments, she’s not “quick” on her Feet and couldn’t catch him. They went straight to Mall Security, but you know how that is in a big place like that, and he was long-gone. Also reported it to the Police, but, same thing, we’ll never see it again. Poor thing, she’s totally beside herself, went to Bed still Crying, that Phone wasn’t Cheap, and you don’t wanna know how Furious EYE (I) am. Soooo, Yeah, I’m feeling just great… for BOTH of us.

  7. One Op Says:

WOW in a split second some thief swoops past and leave such devastation in another persons life, other peoples lives! He must have been standing around just waiting for any opportunity, and likely to support a drug habit. Now in the news because some celebrity died from Heroin, we can read all about children involved in Heroin, This just didn’t happen overnight because this man Hoffman drew such media coverage. Saying it is so widespread why hasn’t there been any awareness made in the news until it comes about that an “actor” dies from it. Why isn’t it worth mentioning in the news prior. This junk leads to exactly what happened to your daughter who take the loss from their thievery.
Of course he could have just wanted the nice phone and no drugs involved. Your daughter, in any case if the one who is taking the brunt of it all and you. I am sorry truly sorry Honeydog.

  8. Honeydog Says:

Thank You, OneOp. The Sad part— besides the Phone being pretty Expensive and her having it only 4 Weeks before it was Stolen— is that my Daughter isn’t one who gets everything she wants whenever she wants it like most Kids do these days, we don’t go running out to buy the “newest-this” and the “cooler-that” to “keep-up with the Jones’s”, she had waited a long time just to get something most people her Age have already had several different ones of, she really deserved it, and it was a very Special first-time Gift. I could be more easily Forgiving if she had lost it— But I Hate a THIEF. And I really don’t care if it’s the wrong thing to Hope something Bad happens to the Scumbag who took it. PISS on ‘im… And I Hope it gets him Good.

What you brought-up about Heroin, and Drugs in general, causing Takers and Addicts to Steal, Kill, and even Die themselves, IS a major problem in this Country. I do think most people ARE aware of the Dangers, Criminal Actions of Addicts, and the often ultimate Fate associated with Heroin and similar Drugs-use, but you’re Right, it’s not talked-about and put out there near enough, by the Source which COULD and SHOULD do it, to come close to how much this Subject needs to be Covered. Actually, I learned from one of the Shows I regularly watch, that, right now, there are more people dying from abusing Prescription Drugs, than any other form of Drug Abuse, including Heroin, and they’re running Rampid on the Streets— but the Media doesn’t tell anyone that either. Like so many other things this Country doesn’t do right, it would rather wait until the Situation becomes Deadly and out-of-Control until it finally starts giving “Warnings”. And of course, like you say, it’s whatever happens in the World of the “Rich or Famous” which it deems as “most Important” to Cover or Televise. Everything is Screwed-up and Backwards, OneOp, and unless we’re Smart in this Day and Age, and take it upon ourselves to do the Work, we can’t expect to be thoroughly and accurately Informed, Warned, Helped, or Saved, by the kind of Sources we’re stuck-with relying on.

  9. sandy1961 Says:

    That sucks PUP!!!
Tell your daughter I’M SORRY people are JACKASSES!!!!

  10. zelda Says:

What a pain in the butt for you Honeydog…….and I am very aware of what a devastating thing it is for your daughter. It has happened in my family too.As it turned out it was taken by a friend, or so called.Talk about awkward! You can imagine what followed.
If you stand back and look at what we humans put value on it gets really goofy. I realize that the new “gig” of the day is what people use as a measure of self identity for one thing and is nothing new but man o man the lack of ” it” has been cause for murder etc. Yikes. Kids have been shot for their tennis shoes or jackets because they sport the “right logos “. The latest phone, etc. is always a target for a thief whether it’s to trade for drugs, to sell for drugs etc. etc.or for self use.The thieves are probably stealing dozens of phones and other things every hour….it’s a big scurvy business.I hate a thief,,,,,,,if I ever catch one with their hand in my purse I would go ballistic on em.As you know my house was robbed and cleaned out down to the toilet paper and the perps were never caught. I lost all my personal stuff, pictures and antiques etc. etc.I went to bed for three weeks.I am still not over it and probably won’t ever be. Horrible feeling of violation. By the way the police didn’t really try to find the creeps. What a joke, Then junkies broke in and set fire to the kitchen trying to cook up meth no doubt,,,,,not caught…….It ended up in my losing $200,000.00 in value on my house and property. Bastards…..The common theme here on ANY theft these days seems to be drugs doesn’t it.?
    Yegawds….
Bottom line I feel for you and your daughter….damn.

  11. Honeydog Says:

I’d like to emphasize that it’s not about my Daughter and I placing Value on a “Device”, or that there was any feeling of Status or Self-Identity attached to it (we’re not like that at all— We actually still have and use our “Land Line” for Calls, and Tara didn’t even ask for a Phone… I just thought it was something she would Enjoy, since we still can’t do much on this Computer), or it being something we can’t live without, as much as it mainly is the Anger of being Stolen-from, the Disgust and Hate toward such Ignorant, Braisen people, and just wanting to get my Hands on them or at least see them get Caught. Putting-out and losing the Money, I can Swallow, and, after all, it IS something that can be Replaced. As you said, it’s the “Violation”— Something we Good and Decent people would never do and don’t deserve, and the fact that these Thugs get away with it— and you know they’re Gloating over it— that you just can’t stand. The Phone itself is a “little” thing, compared to the big Bite-in-the-Ass you have to take.

No wonder you understand so well….
No, Zelda, I honestly never knew about the Robbery of your House or the Fire! How absolutely HORRIBLE and every other related descriptive Word in the Dictionary. As much as I’m capable of Imagining most Situations and putting myself in someone else’s Shoes, I truly don’t know how you Coped and got through that Experience. I should SAY you’re still not OVER it with the great Losses you suffered, and, not “probably”— I DON’T expect you ever WILL be. How on Earth COULD you. And then having to live everyday knowing that the repulsive Maggots who did it are probably roaming-around somewhere out there Scott-Free. Too bad you didn’t know of some tough but all-too-glad-to-Help “Bikers” or something to track them down. I have all-due Respect for Law Enforcement, but, right— They’re not always on-the-Ball. When my Brother had his Show-Car Corvette stolen, he ended-up finding it himself after Weeks of putting his Trust in relying on The Police. Anyway, Oh, it’s all just the Worst what happened to you, and I’m SO very Sorry for what you Endured, how it must have Shattered your Life, and how I know it Haunts you. You are surely very Strong— Not that it hasn’t been Hard and has taken its Toll, I’m also sure-of. Such a Tragedy certainly put my recent little Loss in Perspective, and, Thanks, just the same, for your Heart-felt Thoughts. Hugs.

  12. sandy1961 Says:

Anyone watching the “Winter Olympics”??? HAH! Who NEEDS to!— We’ve got our OWN goin-on here! Here we go again… Big “Nor’easter” movin-in, starting tonight and through tomorrow… Expecting at least another Foot of Snow (on top of what’s already on the Ground from the LAST 8 SnowStorms) and Sleet and Rain. Don’t have to turn-on the TV… Got all the “Events” right OutSIDE— “Window-Scraping”, “Salting”, “Slipping”, “Sliding”, “Falling Down”, and MY Favorite Event— “Shoveling”!
    LOL! (NOT!!) Geeeeeezzzzzz……..

Scraping”, “Salting”, “Slipping”, “Sliding”, “Falling Down”, and some

  15. Honeydog Says:

(ooops… Didn’t know that last Line was there… I must be SNOW Blind)

  16. sandy1961 Says:

Right with ya Pup..My arms are still SORE… BE CAREFUL & tell Tara to BE SAFE also…

  17. Honeydog Says:

You too, Chickie! I’m just hoping we don’t lose Power… Been Lucky so far in all the other Storms.
I hear ya… My Arms are startin to look like Arnold SCHWARZENNAGER’s!!!
    Hugs back!

  18. sandy1961 Says:

DON’T invite trouble by just thinking about that…YOU WILL NOT LOSE POWER!!!!
    STAY SAFE!!!

  19. zelda Says:

We are having whiz bang winds here…….weather alerts and warnings……it usually lasts for a couple of days.ya never know. It’s cold and dark windy and rainy most of the time, However we do get a splash of short lived sun once in awhile. I stay tucked my studio all that I can with my little heater friend R2D2 ,BUT HEY………..I feel for what you are going through,,,,wow!!!! Just terrible for you! Dang!!!
    Please be careful…don’t overdo.
I may have to send you guys a can of spinach eh?
    hugs

  20. sandy1961 Says:

Stay inside you don’t wanna get AIRBORN…..
Stay warm & safe & you got any vinegar for that spinach????

  21. Honeydog Says:

Yeah, I hate those Winds… Makes everything worse.
They kicked-up here last night and are still Whipping.
We got close to 10″ of new Snow, and the “2nd Round” of this Storm is coming tonight, with up to 6″ more. I didn’t even attempt to go Outside today… Took one Look out the Window and that was enough for me. Will wait till it’s all over (supposedly by tomorrow Morning) to do any Shoveling. I just feel bad for the Mailman… They plowed the Street out front and, you know how all the “pushed” Snow gets piled-up along the sides, well, it’s like the Great Wall of CHINA now, and he’ll have to do some serious Climbing and Acrobats to get over onto the Sidewalk leading up to my front Door where the MailBox is. Poor Guy. I know they make good Money, but I don’t think I’d want that Job— especially in the Winter. I also noticed another big Limb cracked-off and came down from one of my big Trees, and the Steps leading up to the Electric and Gas Meters are completely “Buried” (much like everything else in the Yard)… You’d never even know there are Steps there. Gotta get that cleared-up too. Got the whole Weekend cut-out for me, that’s for sure!

Same to You BOTH (and you too, OneOp, wherever you are!)… Stay Safe and Warm, and I hope all you have to deal with is “Riding it Out”. HUGS to All.

(PS: I’ll have that Spinach with Tomatoes and Riccotta Cheese on a White PIZZA please!)

  22. sandy1961 Says:

    Be careful pup….
    That pizze sounds GREAT!!!

  23. sandy1961 Says:

As for being blonde IT’S NOT WHAT it’s cracked up to be….

  24. Honeydog Says:

I don’t know why, but it always “lifts me up” when I do my Hair Blonde, and I do think, when you get a little “Older” (like me), lighter Hair makes you look Younger and softens your Face. People always compliment me on my natural Color (as I mentioned, nearly Black, and I guess they say it because it’s almost to my Waist and very Shiny) but I’ve never ever liked it Dark, and, even when I was Younger, it rarely stayed my natural Color for any length of time. I think since High School (many Moons ago) this is the longest I’ve gone without changing it. Just always liked it Different. Funny, isn’t it, how some people like and want someone else’s, and the ones who have what those people like and want don’t like and want what they’ve got, and they’d each rather have what the other one has… (Did you get that, LOL!) (OH you know what I mean!!)
EH-nee-way… So you’re telling me you’re not as “Cracked-up” as what you SHOULD be???!!! (HaHa, Well you always Crack ME up!)

(It’s ALSO Funny that we’re talking about HAIR…… and PIZZA!)
    Have a Good Weekend, Chickie!

  25. Honeydog Says:

You and “R2D2″ still Okay, Zelda???… Everything alright there???

The Snow has finally ended here… The whole Land looks like a Huge Cake with Mounds of Whipped Cream heaped on top. It’s the Weekend… Send the SPINACH!

  26. sandy1961 Says:

Boy I’ll tell ya… I need that spinach this week… My arms are REALLY HURTING…..
As for hair coloring I always SWORE I would NEVER color it..(then I got old) & I have NO problem coloring it.. Since I moved to Ohio my color has NEVER been the same… Always darker.. I guess it misses sunny CA also..

  27. Honeydog Says:

Know what you mean about Sore Arms… My new “Perfume” is “BENGAY” and “ICY HOT”!

  28. sandy1961 Says:

MMMMMMMMMM– You smell PRETTY pup!!!!!!! LOL

  29. zelda Says:

It’s snowing here this morning,,,,light so far. Cooooooold. My little weatherbug icon is flashing so there is some alert going on.Good thing I stocked up on Chinese food and cake………Ooooh!
    hugs

  30. Honeydog Says:

Yummm! Two of my favorite Foods, and good stuff to be “Snowed-in” with! (But I hope it doesn’t get that bad).
This past Week was the first Week we HAVEN’T had Snow here… It Rained off-and-on instead, and, for a couple Days we finally saw the Sun and had some very Mild Temperatures. That was sure Nice while it lasted.
Stay Warm, enjoy those Goodies, and keep us Posted. Hope all is Well otherwise….
    HUGS back.

  31. sandy1961 Says:

Those are 2 of my favorites ALSO… Well it’s snowing here right now also…. SO SICK of it!!!
    Hugs to ALL!!!!

  32. Honeydog Says:

We’re supposed to get more— UH GAN— on Wednesday, and “March Winds” seem to be starting, making it all that much Colder.
I’m Puking right along with ya…
    HUGS too!

  33. sandy1961 Says:
