Casey Anthony: Familar Face to Run For State Attorney
It appears that Jeff Ashton is considering a run for state attorney in the 2012 election. You’ll remember that Ashton made the decision to retire shortly after Casey Anthony was found not guilty.
From the Orlando Sentinel:
Casey Anthony prosecutor Jeff Ashton may run to replace his former boss, incumbent Lawson Lamar, as state attorney in the 2012 election, according to a WESH.com report.
According to the report, several sources indicated that Ashton may run, and Ashton himself said in a text message that he “may have some word” on whether he’ll run after he completes his book, “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony.”

Good for him. Mr. Ashton is too Talented at Law to Retire anyway. I’m sure he probably gave that Decision alot of Thought prior to or during Casey’s Trial, but I guess maybe once things settled down afterward he had a change of Heart. With as many years as he’s been doing it, Work like that is in your Blood. I saw his TV Interview with Piers Morgan (Larry King’s replacement) and I was just as impressed with him as a casual Guest as I was when I watched him in the Courtroom. It was certainly no Fault of his that Casey was Acquitted, and I hope the Citizens of Florida realize it and how Lucky they would be to have him as State Attorney. He’s one hell of a Man and Lawyer. I hope he succeeds in his desire to land this new position, and I wish him all the Best.
