Lance Armstrong to Retire

Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong announced yesterday that he is retiring from professional cycling. In his retirement, Armstrong plans to devote more time to his family and the fight against cancer.

From CNN:

The 39-year Armstrong said in a statement that his “focus now is raising (his) five children, promoting the mission of LIVESTRONG (Global Cancer Campaign), and growing entrepreneurial ventures with our great corporate partners in the fight against cancer.”

Armstrong first announced his retirement in 2005, but he then attempted a comeback.

I hope he is not retiring with a five o’clock shadow of steroids still attached.
Did that accusation ever get settled. I also hope he is not retiring because of any return of cancer. He really has abused his body in the way he pushed and pushed to be a winner in the Tour de France so many times. Good idea to retire for his children, I hope he has many great years with them..

Two very important, wonderful, and deserving reasons to Retire….
