Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Shot
At least 12 people have been shot this morning at a Tucson grocery store. Included in the wounded are Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
The Associated Press is reporting that Giffords has been shot in the head and NPR is reporting that she has died. Until I have a definitive statement, I will assume that Giffords is still alive and I wish only the best for her and her family.
Also shot was Federal Judge John M. Roll. It is being reported that he has died.
The shooter has been identified as Jared Lee Loughner. Still trying to get confirmation of the spelling of his name. But he is 22 years old and it is believed that he unsuccessfully attempted to enlist in the US Army.

Giffords was holding a constituent meeting at the grocery store when the shooting occurred, according to a schedule posted on her website.
Neither Giffords’ condition nor that of any of the other wounded was immediately available. The Democratic source described the situation as “pretty serious.”
The shooting occurred at a Safeway shortly after 10 a.m. MST, according to sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Jason Ogan.
