Casey Anthony: JAC Raises Concerns About Indigency
The Justice Administrative Commission has serious concerns about Casey Anthony’s request to be declared indigent which would allow her to use public funds to cover some of the costs of her trial.
From the Orlando Sentinel:
An attorney for the Tallahassee-based Justice Administrative Commission questioned Anthony’s need for public money for her defense on a first-degree murder charge because she already has paid out more than $110,000 in legal fees, according to a document filed with the Orange County Circuit Court and obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.
Anthony’s defense team filed a motion last week asking that Anthony be found indigent for costs — meaning the state would pay for certain expenses related to the murder case.

Assuming that her lawyer says the right things at this hearing, having paid $100,000 in fees will not keep her from being found indigent, having family that can scrape that together does not require a incarcerated defendant to pay for other costs. Those other costs BTW can go much much higher than that, especially with the expected change of venue.

If they would have pushed for a speedy trial, she would not need more funds. Stop filing stupid motions, that drives up the fees more.

Casey was “Indigent” to begin-with…. The entire situation was wrongly-played from the Get-Go.

Of course they’d have concerns. They will want to know everything up until the trial that was spent in defending her. Actually, this could be a good thing for Baez in general. Many unscrupulous people surrounded him after the media attention garnered so much demand to know more about KC and family, namely, his first spokesman and the benefactor. This turn of events could shed light on several things in the case, and, put a light on the media itself. JMO
