Casey Anthony: Prosecutors to Release Documents

Expect the prosecution to soon release additional new documentation and other items to Casey Anthony’s defense as part of the discovery process.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

In a notice filed today, prosecutors said they would release about 40 pages of documents, as well as a CD and DVD of video from WFTV depicting duct tape. The items will eventually be made available to the public.

Prosecutors today also added another expert to their witness list — Dr. James W. Jawitz, an associate professor at the University of Florida.

John, I know this is off topic and I do apologize but I need a neutral take on the subject.

Being a blog owner I am sure you can give an answer and put many commenters at ease. There is a lot of discussion on other blogs that a commenters IP address and e-mails can be hacked into because they are on blogs. I was under the impression that only a blog owner has that information about an individual and unless that same person commented on another blog their personal info was secure.

Most names and identities on posts are not real anyway so it seemed secure, now there is a lot of talk and threats that e-mails, and names and personal locations are of easy access thru WordPress. This seems invasive and if you do not mind perhaps you can make a post on your blog to address this situation that has been exposed.

For bloggers to threaten to expose commenters is very un-nerving to say the least, The bloggers themselves most often keep their own identity private, isn’t that only fair for participants on their blogs. Delete or disregard if improper here. Thank you!

Every time there is a comment on the site, I can see the IP address. If there is an email address or Web site, I can see that as well.

I’m sure that it would be very easy for a blogger to copy and paste the IP address, as well as the commenters name (even if it is not real), if they wanted to expose them. There is also a feature on WordPress where I can click on the IP address and read any comment that the commenter has ever written. It’s funny that sometimes there are multiple comments using a different name, from the same IP address. Hasn’t happened in a long time though.

As for hacking, I have a feeling that hackers these days can get access to anything they want, just a gut feeling. Haven’t had that problem here though! :)

  3. OneOp Says:

One more question which seems to be a part of the conflict I see elsewhere.
If I comment ONLY on your blog, can a different WordPress blogger gain access to my IP and e-mail address without calling it hacking.

  4. OneOp Says:

Thank you John, I really believe a lot of people who do not participate in unpleasant an unpleasant ongoing can be informed and more comfortable or make a choice to stop commenting if they can get upfront and honest answers about these threatening issues. Most of us are not involved with the conflicts and would like to feel comfortable. Much appreciated!

This release sounds quite different and will be most interesting. I wonder why little by little it all is being exposed and surely what they will have left to present at trial will be quite a bombshell. For the prosecution to release a new viewpoint on the duct tape sounds like it is going to play a very important role against Casey.

We still are waiting for fingerprints. It seems this murder could not have been committed without them being somewhere as incriminating evidence, more than just circumstantial.

  6. kreuzer33 Says:

OneOP~ No clue. I just post and talk. Don’t know any specifics about security.

  8. Question Says:

Sorry to have bothered you, I did contact WordPress and got no response. Probably because I am not a blog owner. Sincerely appreciate your response.

  9. Question Says:

Question got in the wrong slot. I am OneOp here, sorry

John~~Bill Sheaffer started up a new blog and there are a few disgruntled commenters spreading false rumors. One individual came to my blog on 3 different occasions using the same email address. Any newcomers who come to my blog go into moderation until I read their comments and approve them. This particular individual went into my spam. John, I don’t have to tell you how it works but it may help some who are worried.

As a blog owner, I would never expose anyone’s email addy. I am the one being accused of threatening to expose an address and it is not true.

Noone, unless he is a professional hacker, can hack an email address in a blog.

Thanks John, I hope this puts a few people at ease.

  11. snoopysleuth Says:

I should add here…as a blog owner, I can see your email address but I do not know where you live or your identity. If your email addy ended with a ca instead of com, I would know that you were probably from Canada.

  12. OneOp Says:

    Snoopysleuh, Thank you!

  13. snoopysleuth Says:

You are very welcome OneOp. It is sad when these things happen. There are some very troubled people in our society and alot of them sit in front of a monitor and release their pent up frustrations.

John runs a very clean, family orientated blog and you never have to worry about commenting here.

    nite nite…

I had always felt “At Ease” here on Kreuzer’s Korner, then— with *OneOp’s* concerns— I felt somewhat Apprehensive… but now, I’m Fine again! (Thank You *John* and *Snoopysleuth*, and you too *OneOp* for Sharing and Inquiring).

On the Topic, I think we can Expect that most of the Information on this Case will continue to be Released right up to the Trial, just as it was in that of O.J.’s and Scott Peterson’s. As in these two, there was barely anything the Public didn’t already know when the Trials began. It’s just a matter of
“Spreading it out” along the way. I’m anxious about this one because it’s coming from The Prosecution, and it’s about the Duct Tape. The addition of
“Another Expert Witness” to their side also sounds Interesting.

IP adresses: when a blogger has a phone in (dial in?) connection, the ip changes from time to time. I have this person who lurks around my blog quite often, downloading comments made by Marinade Dave for some reason (I don’t want to know, some sort of obsession I suppose, as he says, his commenters can get very obsessed.) but often the last part of the ip is different. I suppose you can’t moderate a blogger with a dial in connmection for this reason? I don’t think a blogger can hack another blog just because he or she knows your ip. And remember, everything you say on the internet can be found, so be carefull I think.

My family share the same ip so I had my sons playing tricks on my blogs making comments :) and then I saw they use our own ip and I knew it’s them. I removed them. Funny guys. :)

Thank you for mentioning Shaeffers, I checked his blog, so many comments! Interesting and funny at times to say the least!

In this first document, you will see the damage that she did to the South Dakota Special Olympics Fund raising efforts and the sentence she was imposed by the judge.://damontucker.com/2009/09/09/wheres-the-aloha/

  17. OneOp Says:

Mike, who are you talking about @ 11:12 pm?

John, I don’t know about anyone else but the comment text is so fine and sometimes light in print, it is very hard to read. Is this something I need to correct at my end or is it this way for everyone? Anyone else having the same difficulty? Of course I do not have 20/20. :-)

  18. snoopysleuth Says:

OneOp~~You are not alone. The text is very small. Go to the top of the page at the right. You will see Page right by the Tools. Click on that and set your zoom to 125% zoom. That will make a huge difference. You can set it back to 100% when you finish in here. Good Luck!

  19. OneOp Says:

Oh my Snoopysleuth, it sure did help, now I need to go back and see what everyone and myself have been writing here. :-)
    Thank You! Very Much!

  20. kreuzer33 Says:

Sorry. I’ve never had that problem with either of the computers I use. I guess just follow what Snoopy said. Maybe I’ll have to change the background of the site someday…if I can ever find the time :)

  21. OneOp Says:

Hey! who gave me that little red faced thing with horns?????
John, did you do that??? Because if it is somewhere else, it’s not me! Funny!

  22. kreuzer33 Says:

I was trying to fix the setting to see if we could get the font size bigger. It had blank avatars for those who do not have one. I must have checked the box to put in an animated avatar for those who are blank. Ha ha! Sorry! I can change it back if you like :)

  23. OneOp Says:

I thought I had earned my stripes or something! We will see how well “IT” behaves before smashing that little devil. lol If I get really bad can I get a double D or add horns?

  24. kreuzer33 Says:

Hmmm…not sure. I kinda like the new avatars :) May need to get one myself!

  25. snoopysleuth Says:

John~~those gravatars are cute. I had small type like you and I just went in and changed to another theme. It is really easy to do. One you click on the theme you like, you can preview it. Once you choose it, all your present and past posts will go to that theme automatially.

  26. kreuzer33 Says:

That’s what I thought. I really like this theme but I may have to make a change sometime soon!

  27. Honeydog0629 Says:

HEY *John*!.. What is it that I’M supposed to be?— Is that a little Green Alien? Looks like it’s got “Wings” or something, and it’s Head is
“Sprouting” (I used a not-so-good Magnifying Glass, but can’t really tell exactly). Well, we’re all so Cute now with our little assigned personal “ID’s”!

  28. #1 Says:

    you all look cute!

  29. kreuzer33 Says:

Like I told OneOp…I guess avatars have always been blank for those who don’t have one so I checked a box to give a “random” avatar to those in need of one :) I can take them off if you like but they look funny! Ha Ha!

  30. snoopysleuth Says:

John~~tell the truth. You captured a space ship and set off an alien attack in here. I think they are so very cute. I like them better than the ones that show up in my blog for those who don’t have an avatar.

  31. kreuzer33 Says:

Ha Ha! I like them too! :) Space ship huh??? Are we back to Elvis in Florida again?

  32. snoopysleuth Says:

John~~Elvis lives next door with his hound dog here in Canada.

  33. kreuzer33 Says:

See I’m hearing Elvis is in Canada, Florida….not sure which to believe :)

  34. Honeydog0629 Says:

*JOHN*… No! Leave mine alone— I LIKE it! But I did notice that quite a few other Posters on other Pages have the same one as me. Can’t I be the only little Green Alien with Wings and Head Sprouts?!!
