At Least Two Dead in Oregon Shooting
Another one! Ugh! This one was just down the street from where I used to live and work. Talk about close to home!
Initial reports have been sketchy, but officials with the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue stated that there are two dead and could be as many as 10 victims.
From KGW:
A man and a woman were killed in a shooting at a Tualatin drug testing center Tuesday morning, according to police.
Tualatin Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Massey said the shooting was first reported just after 11 a.m. in a business park near the intersection of SW Martinazzi Ave. and SW Warm Springs St.
By 1:30 p.m. police confirmed two people were dead – a man and woman who were not immediately identified.
Police Chief Kent Barker said they at least two people were taken to the hospital.
Barker said a man armed with a rifle entered the building and fired shots. The suspect was later found dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
From KATU:
A male and female are both deceased. At least two others have been injured, and at least one of the injured has been transported to Emanual Hospital.
Tualatin Police Chief Kent Barker said the suspect is dead, and appears to have died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Legacy MetroLab is a drug-screening lab at 7587 S.W. Mohawk St. Employers throughout the area send employees to this lab for work-related drug screenings. For example, this lab is an authorized collection site for workers in the Pacific Northwest Ironworkers Union.
KATU reporter Kerry Tomlinson is on the scene, and following the investigation.
From KXL:
Officers were called to the intersection of Southwest Martinazzi Avenue and Warm Springs Street at 11:48 a.m. Tualatin police said an armed person fired shots at the business.
A witness said the armed person was carrying two guns. He reported hearing 3-5 shots and later saw a person running from the area with blood on her legs.
A LifeFlight helicopter landed at a nearby field and transported one person to the hospital.
Police said the area is safe and the shooter is not at large.
