Casey Anthony: Roy Kronk Fired

Roy Kronk has been fired from his job as a utility meter reader after failing to attend a disciplinary hearing yesterday for an issue which has yet to be disclosed.

So it’s an undisclosed reason. If anyone hears more, please feel free to share. There must be some kind of reason, right?

From the Orlando Sentinel:

“Roy Kronk was scheduled to attend a pre-determination hearing yesterday to address issues pertaining to his employment with the County. He failed to show for the hearing, and a decision has been issued terminating his employment effective immediately,” the county wrote Kronk’s lawyer. “Therefore, the County shall not pay any legal fees associated with representing Mr. Kronk that are incurred from this point forward.”

The letter was written by Assistant County Attorney Peter A. Lichtman to Orlando lawyer David Evans, who had been paid by the county to represent Kronk after the skeletal remains were found in December.

“We appreciate the courtesy and professionalism you have demonstrated throughout your excellent representation of Mr. Kronk,” Lichtman wrote. “Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.”

UPDATE from The TV Guy:

WESH-Channel 2 anchor Jim Payne asked the pertinent question: Did Roy Kronk’s firing have anything to do with the Casey Anthony case?

“In a roundabout way, yes,” WESH’s Bob Kealing said. “David Evans, his attorney, says Kronk sustained a workplace injury from the job he took to avoid the unwanted notoriety that the Anthony case brought him.”

The injury? A neck and shoulder one he suffered while working at a warehouse job for Orange County, and doctors say he shouldn’t return to work, Evans told WESH.

Very interesting KK! In other words there just may be something about his character that is not squeaky clean. Or is this just a labor issue. I am anxious if it has anything at all to do with him being in the area he was in as a meter reader or if he just wandered over there. If so, why??? This is not to say respectfully that he brought forth the location on Caylee’s body. May be nothing at all, hope so. If he is “fired”, I think he can draw unemployment, but I do not know how the state of Florida handles unemployment/disabilities, etc.

Correction, I meant, not to say, “disrespectfully,” sorry

Kronk’s lawyer David Evans tells WESH 2 News that Kronk was fired over an issue related to worker’s compensation.

Kronk was receiving working at a county warehouse and suffered a shoulder or neck injury.

“There’s a dispute between Roy and the county over a job-related injury,” Evans said. “Roy is going to consider what his options are.”

Thanks Mikka! It is good when someone steps up with information that stops going off on the wrong thoughts.

Yeah, I had a Feeling there was more to this than just not Showing-up for a Meeting. It’s gonna be a bit Tough on him now, Financially, without having the “Funding” he Counted-on from the County to Pay his Legal Fees, which are bound to be On-Going, for, and during, Casey’s up-coming Trial. Might have to Resort to a Public Defender. I think Roy’s Involvement with this whole Case not only completely Changed his past Life, but will probably continue to Affect his Future Endeavors for a long time. Whether or not his somewhat Suspicious “Discovery” of Caylee’s Body was “On-the-Up-n-Up” is yet to be Known, but he’s surely Suffering the Consequences.

    Not surprised by this.

Hank, Not surprise by what??? You got me curious.

easy way for the state not to have to pay legal fees for him or workman’s comp..just fire him. Shuts that down quickly

I never Agreed with his Lawyer’s Fees being Paid-for in the first place anyway— Everyone else in the Country who can’t Afford one gets a Public Defender. Still, sounds like this whole Mess has turned-out to be nothing but a Dark Cloud hanging over him, and it just Poured Rain on him again. Kind of a Shame if he really was On-the-Level about everything.

He was sort of a shady person anyway..owed back child support-which he had to pay out of his reward monies, etc.
