Tim Miller Impressed By Search for Somer Thompson
Interesting piece from WESH today who conducted an interview with Tim Miller of EquuSearch who said that he was impressed with the speed in which Somer Thompson’s body was recovered. He definitely knows a lot about searches for missing children. Many of you will remember him from the search for little Caylee Anthony last year.
From WESH:
In an exclusive interview with WESH 2 News, Tim Miller, of Texas EquuSearch, said, “It just shows again what people can do when everybody is working together for the right cause.”
Miller contrasted the search for Somer, a 7-year-old Orange Park girl whose body was found in a Georgia landfill, with the Haleigh Cummings case in Putnam County. Miller, whose group assisted in the search, said Haleigh’s family was not working well together.
Haleigh disappeared from her home earlier this year and has not been found. Miller and his group help search for missing persons and became familiar to many in Central Florida during the search for Caylee Anthony, whose body was found in Orange County woods in December months after she was last seen.
“I’ve worked a lot of these things…Haleigh is not going to be one of those miracles,” Miller said. “I truly believe it’s going to be a miracle if we find Haleigh’s body some day … and I just hate to be that blunt.”

I am so thankful we have people like tim miller who care about innocent victims who are missing due to foul play. i believe that one day the truth will be known about little haleigh’s disappearance. God bless her little soul.

Tim Miller is a celeb. He has to work in some of the worst situations, sometimes with some of the hardest to deal with people. Organizing groups of well-meaning people is also hard. Tim’s no saint, but there should be some sort of public award for his work.

I agree midget48 that Tim Miller is respectable in his work. It made me sick to my
stomach on what I recall recently, Nancy Grace Show, I think, where Tim was sneered at and belittled by none other than Mark Klass, of all people! It showed a character that seems to be just under the surface, and I don’t know how he could bring himself to publicly come down on Tim Miller like that. They both having lost
their children to murder.

I think Klaas was just pointing out that Miller shouldn’t have publicized the outcomes of the polygraphs and hypnosis—that it was all police business.
I can understand Klaas’ point, however, Tim is wedged between the police and the families and can get frustrated with each.
I think it was good that he was open in his findings. It didn’t seem to hinder the policework at all, which is at a standstill anyway. Also, the results brought out ridicule and more easily exposed lies by Misty when she claimed she was tricked into taking the tests.
Tim will work to the end in a case. He knows he is at the end of this one.

Mark Klaas is from my hometown of Petaluma, California. We all followed the Polly Klaas tragedy. There has always been something about him, though, that I do not like. Whether it is his demeanor or personality I don’t know. I feel terrible for him and his family, though because no one should ever have to go through the anguish of losing their own child.
October 27, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Kreuzer33, Exactly why Mr. Klass surprised me with his demeanor. Tim Miller
also lost his child. Klass seems to have an animosity, and with all respect I only
see him ‘working” on TV. Whatever, is know about his “actual foundation” I have
never heard of it. Tim Miller has actually gone out on foot, that is the difference
I see. Just an observation, do not know either.

My family and I actually helped out at the Polly Klaas Foundation when it first began. I was only 15 at the time but I always heard stories about how it was run and it didn’t seem that great. That was a long time ago though and I’m sure it is much better now.

Kreuzer 33, Thank you for responding. I think my interest is peaked because there is real negativity toward the Anthonys trying to start a foundation (it is called blood money off a dead child)) Once I had a comment at another place that I did not see any difference in them starting one and that of Mark Klass, ? Walsh, Walsh is the only one I have noted has actually done any good. I also made the remark the Mark Klass gets plenty of pay for TV appearances and making his statements, so why shouldn’t the Anthonys have the benefit of the doubt also. Twice my comment was not accepted that had Mark Klass name in it, so I am treading on thin ice. My only thought is if Klass has respect why not Anthonys. I will not go on with this and do not wish to give you trouble here.
Please delete if you like.

Although I had heard of “Texas Equasearch”, I first became aware and knowledgable of Tim Miller himself during the long and many months of the Search for Natalie Holloway. I really like Tim alot, and GOD BLESS him and his Crew for their Tireless Dedication in their Work and the “Personal Stake” he puts into each and every Case, knowing-well, First-Hand, what it’s like for the Families, and his own Compassion for the Victims, though Strangers to him. He’s an Expert at what he does, and is to be Commended beyond any Words and Awards. I will never Forget his Exhausted Face, and Tears running-down, after the downright Ignorant and Unforgiveable “Slap in the Face” he got from The Anthonys for all his Time and Efforts when they told him to “Get-out” during his grueling Search for Caylee. This man IS a “Saint”, a Good and Decent Human Being, which is more than I can say for The Anthonys, and more than what they Deseved, never once gave any Credit to, or showed any Appreciation of. Anyway, I Agree with Tim, and thought to myself all along that Somer’s Case was handled with Swift Precision and Efficiency. As well, GOD BLESS the Police, the Investigators, and the Searchers for a Job more-than-well Done, AND Somer’s Mother who, from Beginning to End, recognized their Specialness, and kindly Expressed her Gratefulness. What would we do without these Individuals.

OneOp,
I can’t put the Anthonys and Klaas in the same category. They both lost family members, but if Klaas knew police evidence pointed to a particular killer, I’m sure he would support the police and cry for justice.
The Anthonys started their foundation on the premise that their granddaughter was missing, even when evidence showed death, and even now they suggest Caylee’s remains may not be hers. It may be all be a defensive ploy, but it makes their foundation seem more of a scam.
Perhaps Klaas’ organization could be looked at closer. Maybe it doesn’t deserve the respect it appears to get.
However, even if Klaas gets respect for a non-contributing foundation, doesn’t mean the Anthonys should then also get respect. They should both get booted. Call them for what they are.

Honeydog, I was not fully aware the Anthonys had shown disrespect for Tim Miller. Probably was not following closely at that time. But for another man who
has suffered his same loss to go on national TV and ridicule him personally and his work it just made me sick, so I was interested more in the differences of Tim
and Mark than anything. I will take Tim anyday!!!

To add, I was a little surprised when Kruezer33 expressed his opinion as he did.
I believe he certainly would know more accurately about the operations tatics of
MK and also of Padilla, living in closer proximity, Not my intention to build up
animosity about anyone. Only saw the one incident on NG and was absolutely
floored at MK behavior against TM. Was Downright mean and slanderous.
God Bless both in their losses.

OneOp~ No trouble here.
As everyone here hopefully knows, this site is a fun hobby for me, not a paying job, and I want everyone to feel free to participate in an open discussion. I only delete comments that are vulgar/disrespectful in nature or are a direct attack on anyone else. So, please, speak your mind…that’s what this is all about. It’s about a discussion and bringing value add to the table.
I may only be a 31 year old guy who loves my family, music, sports and stuff like that…but I also know that at anytime, if this site turns into something I don’t want it to be, all I have to do is hit the delete button (but I’d miss the discussion y’all have!)
And I agree that Walsh has done some incredible good for families across the country (and I’m sure around the world).

Thank you KK for offering this site. So far everyone here has been friendly in their opinions and that is credible to you personally. There are other good sites but groupie friends eat up other good people when they are of a different breed and try to convey a thought. Even if a comment challenges it should not be anything that other commenters direct unpleasant remarks toward to get rid of them.
So far your blog has been most interesting and pleasant in that respect. May I add that your respect for yourself and your family is most admirable. One more question this morning, why is it there are very few men commenters on all and any of the internet blogs. Is it that only women… uh…gossip
I guess you can’t answer that one
October 28, 2009 at 7:43 am
Nope…can’t answer that one. I guess we’re off doing “men things”.
October 28, 2009 at 4:25 pm
KK, I got my magnifying glass out to take a better look at you and your family.
) what the heck are some up for anyway?????? Ok, people like me.
Pretty wife and cute children! Do I see a little baldness or are you just blond?
By Golly, if you do have a very high forehead you are the nicest one around.
You seem to know how to keep your blog in m-o-d-e-r-a-t-i-o-n.
Even temperament so to speak. I have noticed when some get too good, and all
puffed up, they sometimes go bad in a hurry. For hobby or not, you certainly run a very good blog for commenters to speak on. Other than a hobby, (or for women,

Thanks for the kind words! I keep the head freshly shaven every two days
Blogs are for discussion, simple as that. Just keep things clean is all I ever ask.

*OneOp*… I agree with you on the Issue of Mr. Klaas having None (Class) sometimes. It’s wierd about him, like Kreuzer mentioned. While I’ve both Listened and Agreed with Mark intensely on certain things, there’s an Underlying sort-of “Grudge” or Personal Vendetta he holds or something that you can still Pick-up on… I can’t explain it. Nothing like Tim Miller or John Walsh, but *Ideas* is Right— he’s as Different from The Anthonys as he is from them.
October 29, 2009 at 3:22 am
I appreciate Tim Miller and all his work. Klaas could’ve “attacked” or questioned Tim’s tactics in a more respectful way.
I realize Tim was very frustrated with the Cummings families and the way they threw mud at him just when he was trying to help him. But I thought Tim was harsh in his choice of words when talking about them in some of the media outlets.
October 30, 2009 at 12:07 am
*Ideas*.. Like you said in a couple of your above Comments, it must be very Hard and Stressful on Tim, not only in Performing his Work, but having to Deal with the Pressures of the Families, Police, and Tons of others Involved. I’m sure the Frustration is Overwhelming, and like anyone else, he’s only Human, and I can Imagine that it just gets to a Point sometimes where he wouldn’t normally go and it can’t be Helped. I don’t think he would ever
“Intentionally” be Mean, or wish to Hurt anyone…. The Nature of his Business simply Calls-for Speaking the Truth in Who, What, Where, When, How, and Why— no matter in the Light in must Cast.
October 30, 2009 at 12:10 am
(Sorry.. Type-O in Last Sentence— Should be “No matter in the Light IT must Cast”).
