Kanye West Apologizes on Jay Leno Show
Kanye West appeared to blame the pain of his mother’s death two years ago for his behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards.
From CNN:
West’s appearance on Monday’s prime-time premiere of “The Jay Leno Show” capped a 24-hour period that began Sunday evening with him strolling down the red carpet at New York’s Radio City Music Hall while gulping from a bottle of Cognac.
The low-light came about an hour later, when West jumped onstage and grabbed the microphone from singer Taylor Swift as she accepted the Best Female Video award. West declared that Beyonce Knowles should have won.
When Leno asked West what his mother would have thought of his behavior, he fell silent for more than a dozen seconds and appeared near tears. Leno pressed him again.
“Would she be disappointed in this? Would she give you a lecture?”
West gave a rambling, emotional answer:
“Yeah, you know, obviously, you know, I deal with hurt and, you know, so many, you know, celebrities, they never take the time off, and I’ve never taken the time off to really, you know, I just, music after music and tour after tour on tour, and I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt.

Taylor Smith should apologize…for singing country “music.” People should grab the mikes from her at her concerts.

West says he was being “rude”. How about adding a few adjectives to that, such as arrogant, self-absorbed, narcissistic, entitled and, at the end of the day, intensely stupid.

I think the guy has crawled into a bottle and needs rehab. If its been 2 yrs since his Mom died, this is just about right usually grief takes about a 24 month process, but he told it on Leno, hes been ignoring it, more music etc & treating his pain with Alcohol and who knows what else Entitlement Thinking allows one who is out of control. Obviously he isnt too great to make a true “ASS” of himself and really taking that mic from Taylor was as bad as if he assaulted her. She accepted his apology but she’s gonna thin about that pud’s actions forever. Humble yourself Kayne, take the time now and get help.

Is he sorry? Well he is probably sorry because he just trashed his career. He is probably sorry because he did not anticipate that the entire population would turn against him for his obnoxious behavior. That is somewhat rare. Even the goofiest of our celebrities will always maintain fans. It’s just that in this case it seems that he has alienated virtually everyone.
He’s not sorry. If he truly was then his behavior would change. Is there anyone who believes that his behavior will change now? I don’t think so. He is what he is, a self-centered individual who seems to have no regard for the rights of others. To have the gall to do what he did indicates some significant mental disorders, even if his reasoning was due to the alcohol.

What’s going on? Chris Brown, Kayne West, Serena Williams all behaving outrageously in public and making things worse with insincere apologies. They still feel that the bad fairy came into their life and messed it up but it’s not really their fault and really the just want to move on to the next thing.

Wonder what his Problem was BEFORE his Mother died— like when he threw a Temper Tantrum at the 2006 MTV Awards because he didn’t Win “Best New Artist”— THAT was THREE years ago). Kanye has a History of pulling this Shit. He can “Pass the “Blame” on anything he wants, hang his Head below his Knees, and make apologetic Appearances on Jay’s Show or, who knows, probably next, Oprah, for all that matter…. He’s got a new Album coming-out, and he’s just trying to Save his own Hide. “Mr. Big Shot” really needs to get Knocked-down a Few Pegs.

I think he just reduced the demand for his albums significantly. I suppose there is a point where no matter how talented you are, if you act like a jerk people will respond negatively to you. Maybe he has figured that part out. But I think his career is in trouble.
