Casey Anthony: Fraud Trial Date Requested

According to a motion filed yesterday, prosecutors would like the fraud case against Casey Anthony to go to trial within the next two months.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Anthony, 23, is charged with more than a dozen fraud charges, including fraudulent use of personal identification information, forgery of a check and uttering a forged check.

Anthony’s friend, Amy Huizenga, told investigators that she loaned her car to Anthony while Huizenga was on vacation last summer. When she returned, Huizenga learned checks were missing from her car and that her bank account had a zero balance.

Authorities say Anthony used her friend’s check to buy more than $400 worth of clothes and groceries at area Target and Winn-Dixie stores. According to investigators, she also withdrew $250 from the bank and attempted to pay a $574 phone bill, but there wasn’t enough money left in Huizenga’s account.

  1. I am sure Baez will fight this tooth and nail. It won’t fit the mold he is trying to create.

  2. Diana Says:

I wonder what Casey was going to say to her best friend Amy when she discovered that she forged her checks and confronted her with it? Did she think Amy would just shrug it off?Anyone have the link to those checks? Seems like I saw them a while ago, and she signed Amys name on one but her own name on another.

  3. Detwill39 Says:

Diana~~I am looking for those checks too. If I have any luck, I will post the link here. I know they are in the docs, I just have to find the right ones.

  4. luvanrs Says:

It would be interesting to get into Casey’s head one time and see what her thought processes are. She must think that she is so above the law that she can do anything and get away with it. Truly, how was she going to explain to her friend about emptying her checking account? It baffles me.

  5. Detwill39 Says:

Casey would tell Amy that Zenaida, the nannie, forced her into stealing the money and was holding Caylee hostage. Casey is a sociopath and has no conscious. She does things on impulse and never weighs the consequences.

  6. Let me see if I can piece this all together, might need some help.

Roots growing through bones and plastic bags indicating the body was in the woods in June 2008. Sometime after the middle of June Casey spends down Amy’s account and would possibly say the Nanny made me do it. On July 15 or close to it Casey tells the police that she talked to Caylee on the phone, remember, “Hi mommy” and they talked about shoes and a book. Hmmmmm, I don’t think so!

And the defense would say, HUH! What else could they say????

  7. Sophie Says:

Oh, plus, Caylee’s body was ‘wearing’ the exact outfit that George said he last saw her in, which means she was likely killed that same day. Again, how on earth did Casey get a phone call from her daughter when she was lying dead in the bushes?

Every single thing in this case directly contradicts every single thing that the Anthony’s have said happened. How do they possibly think she’ll get off?

  8. Detwill39 Says:

What amazes me is that after, over a month, George could remember exactly what Casey and Caylee was wearing. He has been away from law enforcement for over 20 years.

John~~Casey spent Amy’s money when Amy was in Puerto Rico so it would have been from around July 8th to 15. The last check that Casey made out was for $250 on July 15th, the same day that Amy returned from PR.
Approx $200 was still in Casey’s purse when Lee retrieved her things from Tony Lazarros. Cindy got her mitts on that $200 and pocketed it. It was, rightfully, Amy’s money so Cindy took possession of stolen goods. That money should have been turned over to LE. I am wondering where Casey learned her trade.

I’m in no way Condoning Casey for Using-up Amy’s Money, but what Stupid Person would go on Vacation and leave their Blank Checks in their Vehicle for ANYBODY to have Access to, let alone a “Friend” whom she told Authorities, in her Deposition, “Never told the Truth” and “Nobody really Trusted”. Sorry, but
“Lending” your Car is one thing.. Leaving a Pile of Cash on the Table with a Thief in the House is another. Amy knew Casey.. She should’ve known better.
I agree with *Detwill*, it never even Crossed Casey’s Mind at the Time as to what she’d tell Amy. She just
“Does It” and Thinks-Up something later. I STILL say,
the Reason for the “Duct-Tape” being put-on AFTER Caylee’s Body was already in the Decomposition Stages, was because it took Casey a while to Come-Up with an Idea on what to say had Happened, and when she Decided-on a “Kidnapping”, what better way to make her Story appear True— It’s a commonly-used Practice by Kidnappers to put Tape over the Mouth of their Victim. To me, this is what Casey Thought, and it makes Perfect Sense. Some say the Concept behind The Prosecution wanting this “Fraud Trial” is to further “Dirty-up” Casey before the “Big” One, in addition to Distracting The Defense away from their “Current” Preparation-Work. Not sure if the Judge will Grant this one, based on the Fact that none of the People (Amy, Casey’s Grandmother, etc)
can be “Awarded” the Return of their Stolen Money, and, in a “Death-Penalty” Case, “Check-Kiting” would not Precede it. BUT, as we all know, this Case is Full of Surprises. I’M Wondering what the Heck is Going-on with the “Finishing” of George and Cindy’s Unfinished “Zenaida Gonzales Depositions”, which the Judge Ruled to Proceed, quite a while back now. ????

  10. Daisey1 Says:

I keep hearing that Casey is going to try to blame Cindy& George…she totally ignored them the last time she was in court. I can only imagine Cindy’s “reaction” if that happens!” Talk about MURDEROUS RAGE!

  11. Diana Says:

    *Honeydog
The hold up on the depositions is because the judge had a fully booked calender for June.
I’m thinking Casey thought….(about what to tell Amy), was that she was stressed because Caylee was missing and says: I will pay you back, and she actually could. She will have the money because she will be a greiving, pretty young mother who has lost a child to kidnapping and the donations would pour in. She would become wealthy and move out of that house and start over again……..but with money and no kid in tow. BTW …. *This is HER thoughts.

  12. Diana Says:

    Daisey*
How in the world could Casey blame George and Cindy? She can’t blame anyone but herself. The evidence points straight to her and ONLY her. She did this alone in a fit of rage against her mother and her life as it was…….. “with” Caylee who was a huge obstacle for the lifestyle she craved.

  13. Diana Says:

I think she ignored them in court because she is mad at them for making her kill Caylee.

  14. Detwill39 Says:

Honeydog~~you make some very good points. Yes, we are patiently waiting for the rest of the depositions. Morgan was supposed to depose Dominic
Casey but he never showed up. Parts of Dominic’s interview with LE are under seal because of attorney/client privalege. Dominic filed a complaint to the bar assoc. against Baez and Judge Strickland file a follow up. I agree with Dr G that the duct tape was put around the mouth and nose prior to decomposition. Duct tape will not stick to a wet surface.

Daisey~~I wouldn’t put anything past the Casey/Baez team. They are grasping at straws and Richardo, Jesse, Amy, all could be implicated.

  15. 88namaste88 Says:

Speaking as adirolfninhoj, use a mirror to see me.

I just hope the court system here in FL is not or does not end up like CA and the OJ case. It seems to me that Strickland is being very lenient in many of his decisions. I just wonder if there is any time limit to how long a trial can be put off? It seems like the trial times for serious crimes gets longer and longer.

Yep it’s me back with a new set of clothes on. I still have nasty trolls chasing me, sheeeesh! Don’t they know what goes around, comes around?

  16. kreuzer33 Says:

I’m sure they will once they learn they have a SUPER SLEUTH after them! :)

  17. Detwill39 Says:

    testing…

  18. DB Says:

Great blog! The whole family seems dimented. From George and Cindy to Lee and Casey. They are all guilty! Is there anyone in the family who can tell the truth? That poor Caylee. She never had a chance.

  19. cjh Says:

It seems the judge is giving Baez alot of breaks in this case. I just hope she doesn’t get a Judge “Ito” in which he let everything slide in support of the OJ defense. What really upsets me now is that phony foundation the grandarents set up. They have already been given a $30,000.00 boat by the missing children foundation! We all know their grandaughter was never missing and they have “used” the system for their own greedy ways!

  20. Anonymous Says:

george is probably innocent in this as well as lee but i believe cindy was part of it or the cause of it and she is controlling the other two to make her complicity silent. cindy is mainly to blame for what happened and she knows what happened. throw her in jail.
