Off-Duty Officer Fatally Shot by Police in Harlem
A New York City plainclothes policeman, who drew his gun while chasing someone he found rummaging through his car, has been shot to death by a fellow police officer.
From the Associated Press:
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says 25-year-old Omar J. Edwards died Thursday night. He was shot within blocks of the Harlem police station where he worked.
Kelly says Edwards had just gotten off work when he spotted a man going through his vehicle. Edwards began chasing him, and officers in an unmarked police car saw the pursuit and followed.
Kelly says one of the officers jumped out of the car and fired six shots, hitting Edwards in the arm and the chest. Edwards did not fire his weapon.

It seems there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t see another horrible story involving a “peace officer,” and his trusty weapon. These guys just can’t get enough, can they? I guess if they can’t find anyone else to shoot in the back, they will simply shoot a fellow police officer. Maybe this will ultimately take TWO officers off the street instead of just one. God knows they serve no purpose whatsoever except to frighten, intimidate, tazer, shoot, rape, rob and pillage.
