Casey Anthony: No Conflict Exists With Lawyer
Judge Stan Strickland ruled today that there is no conflict of interest involving Anthony’s lead defense attorney, Jose Baez.
From the Orlando Sentinel:
Prosecutor Jeff Ashton argued that Strickland should look into how Anthony, who is awaiting trial on charges that she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony, is paying for her defense. Caylee Anthony’s remains were found in December in a wooded area a few blocks from the home where Casey Anthony lived with her parents.
“We are concerned with this case. The objection doesn’t state any legal basis,” Ashton said. “The way to diffuse this issue right now is . . . to make sure that the record is clear of exactly what the situation is, exactly what the financial arrangements are.”
Ashton said he was concerned that if Casey Anthony is convicted, she could bring up a conflict — a dispute between her and her attorney — that could lead to the case being redone.

I heard that they have sold photos for over 200,000 dollars. It was on one of the News affiliates sites. Isn’t that conflict of interest?
Absolutely no one should be able to profit from anything that has to do with the Casey Anthony case. That includes photos of Casey and Caylee.

This Money, previously acquired from NBC, was for a Photo Album of Caylee for the purpose of providing
visual coverage of the Story. It has not been disclosed WHO the Recipient of this Money was, and according to the Legal Panel on TV, it may, or may not, come-into play at a later point. For the time being, the Judge is satisfied with the signed Affidavit that there are no FUTURE “Deals” between Baez and Anthony.
