Good!!!
This never should have been designed or even thought of being sold, in the first place.
From CNN:
A Florida company is suspending launch of its “Caylee Sunshine” doll following a public outcry that included members of slain toddler Caylee Anthony’s family.
Jaime Salcedo, president of Showbiz Promotions, told CNN that the Jacksonville-based company intended for the dolls to honor children who die young and raise money for charity. But on Tuesday the company announced on its Web site that it is suspending the promotion.
The dolls were scheduled to go on sale at noon Tuesday for $29.99, according to the company’s Web site. The dolls have blond hair, rather than Caylee’s brown hair, and wear jeans and a T-shirt that says “Caylee Sunshine.” According to the Web site, each doll plays the song “You are My Sunshine.”
“However, after reviewing the response to our media introduction of the Sunshine Caylee Doll and listening to the advice of the general public, we feel that it is best to suspend the launch,” said a statement on the Web site — called the “Caylee Anthony Tribute Site” — signed by Salcedo.
“While we still feel it is important to raise awareness and raise money to help stop this type of crime from being committed, we feel we can be more effective using traditional methods,” the statement said.

Caylee was 2 when she was last seen in June. Her skeletal remains were found last month in woods about a half-mile from her grandparents’ home. Her mother, Casey Anthony, 22, faces charges including first-degree murder in her death.
“Holding a Caylee Sunshine Doll can help us remember that all the children taken from this world prematurely are dancing, playing and singing their sunshine song forever,” the Web site says.
From the Orlando Sentinel:
In an e-mail statement this morning, Showbiz Promotions president Jaime Salcedo stated: “After reviewing the response to our media introduction of the Sunshine Caylee Doll and listening to the advice of the general public We feel that is it (sic) best to suspend the launch of The Sunshine Caylee Doll.”
The company planned to start selling “The Inspirational Caylee Sunshine Doll” today for $29.99. The doll plays the song “You Are My Sunshine” when her bellybutton is pushed.
The blond, 18-inch doll wears jeans and a T-shirt depicting a sun and the phrase: “CAYLEE SUNSHINE.”
Salcedo told the Orlando Sentinel on Monday that the doll purposely does not look like the slain toddler, whose remains were found near her east Orange County home last month, because that would be too morbid.
News of the product outraged the attorney representing Caylee’s grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony.
“This is an example of another person trying to profit from the tragedy of Caylee’s death,” lawyer Brad Conway said Monday. “He has never met my clients, spoken to my clients and has not gotten authority of any type to do this. And after I have a chance to research it, I will likely take whatever legal action I can.”

I posted on your previous blog that this is what would have happened.

I thought that there would be enough outcry from angry citizens. Something like this should never have even been conceived.

How could this idiot man have EVER thought this could be in any way, shape or form acceptable???
Of all the disrespectful actions since this case first began, this has to be the worst!
My heart goes out to the Anthony’s, because I believe there will be many more circus acts to come…..and I hope at some point, they can have some peace in their lives.
Casey, tell the truth and give your family a break. Stop the circus.

It’s just revolting. Does this guy feel like a jerk now? Probably not. How morbid that you would push her belly button and the last song she sang before her death would be played?? This could be the lowest thing I have ever heard anyone do.

I knew there would be a huge outcry from the public. I am just thankful that this man listened. I feel horrible for the Anthonys too. They have been through so much already and still facing very difficult times in the future. As far as this scumbag company, they should close the doors if this is all they can come up with How sick can people get ?

this latest Gimmick to make Money with the Caylee Sunshine Doll shows how greedy People can be.
At least Jaime Salcedo had enough Sense to stop this Insanity and listen to the Public Opinion who without any Doubt didn’t want anything to do with that Doll and thought it was in very bad taste, say the least.
It shows the Public Opinion is important and is listened too.
Caylee Marie has been exploited enough and the People have made it known, enough is enough!

Good!…That was so disrespectful to the memory of Caylee and to her grieving family. I am glad they decided to suspend it.
You know by now I would think that nothing could surprise me anymore…but some people still do with their thoughtless greed.

I was surprised today when watching HLN re this Caylee doll. They invite callers to give their opinion and 3 of them were totally against the doll but one lady who called was all for it. She said that it was a good way to remember a little girl who has become Americas sweetheart….in my books that was one call too many for putting this doll on the market.
I am glad to hear that the manufacture of the Caylee doll has been suspended. I am hoping that all the dolls in their inventory will be destroyed and this will be the end of it. Maybe this will send a message to other leeches who plan on exploiting this child.

I noticed that earlier today, when Nancy Grace asked him how much of his profits were going to go to charity, he said, “a substantial amount” but COULD NOT give a percentage.
Only later in the day did he say that ALL the profits were going to a charity, BUT HE CAN’T NAME THE CHARITY!!!!!
Sounds to me like after Nancy Grace his attorney called him and told him he’d probably be sued or vilified if he makes a DIME on this despicable idea.
If he makes this doll he’ll be one of the most hated men in the country.
What a greedy jerk.
